Is the set also a CCG? can you actually play a game with the cards or is it just a trading/collecting thing?

Check out my site for details on this, but I'll do a quick run-down here:

-They were released formally yesterday (July 11)
-They're out now at hobby shops
-Within a week they'll be shipped to big box stores
-They're only available in the US and Canada for now
-They were up for pre-sale at Bronycon a week or so back
-They're colectable cards only

Well, a lot of collectible/trading cards are also game cards. Bella Sara is a good example, it's not exactly one specific game, and they're highly collectible, but you can still play games and trade them.

I'm sure people will come up with ways to game, but it won't be "official."

May sound dumb  , but by hobby store, do you mean places where they sell comic books, etc? I don't know of a place on Long Island like that.

Copypaste: A hobby store (or hobby shop) sells recreational modelling and craft supplies and specialty magazines for model airplanes (both military craft and airliners), train models, ship models, house and building models. Some hobby shops may also sell dolls, and collectible coins and stamps. A subtype of hobby store is a game store, which sells board games and role playing games. In other cases, some hobby stores sell jigsaw puzzles, R/C cars, boats, and model or remote control planes.

i must admit, i didnt know either. i thought it was the same thing you did

Hobby shops nowadays sell stuff like comic books, action figures, Dungeons and Dragons and/or Warhammer figures, tabletop RPGs, Magic/Yu-Gi-Oh!/Pokemon cards, board games, etc. I have two back home, one that's based off of DnD, another based off of comic books. And the one near my college is based off of board and card games. But they all generally sell the same stuff. Newbury Comics is a chain that's in the "hobby shop" genre.

If you don't know about a hobby shop in your local area, ask on Facebook. I'm sure someone would know of one.
