Sorry Wrong number

LOL!  There are some crazy stories!  I used to to get calls for an auto body shop SUPER early in the morning all the time.  I finally looked the place up and realized they had the same phone number except for the three digit area code.  I starting unplugging my phone every night and changed my voice mail telling customers the correct number for the auto shop!

More recently, I've had this happen...

Once I had an old lady call our office and ask if we sold electric knives.  I work at a law firm.

Oh! Oh! I just remembered one, when I saw someone talk about having a similar name. My mom's name starts with a B and her (former) last name is the same as a local criminal lawyer named Bob! Now, people at the jail had a habit of looking up B H---- in the phonebook when they needed a lawyer, instead of R H---- (because his name is Robert, not Bob) so we'd get all sorts of 'HELP I'M DRUNK I'M IN JAIL HELP'

The weirdest one was one I let the answering machine get because most phone messages are for my mom and I was cleaning something, and the answering machine turned on and detailed an elaborate case needing Bob that involved stalking and kidnapping and around that point I picked up the phone and told them they had the wrong number.

I kinda wish I hadn't cut it off before I found out *why* the kidnapping, though.
