I promise this will be my last post for awhile  It's just that I've been on a custom kick lately. I do have other ponies I want to make but I think I will work on my many deflocks next for a bit.
Some of you, if you've been around the arena awhile, may remember this picture, my "Painted Ponies" I created many years ago, based on American Paint Horse pinto-style coloring:

Well I've updated/changed their symbols a bit:

And finally made them real!

Making the white spots was challenging. I made the green pegasus first, and she had a of of green dye bleed through. I tried three days of sunfading, and even considered ordering another HQG1C blank to start over. In the end I decided to keep her as is. I created her, I couldn't get rid of her  Blue unicorn was better, with less dye bleed. Orange earth came out great! I learned I needed MANY more layers of rubber cement and masking fluid!
One other thing I've learned... I'm never curling hair again!   I am not good at hair! I boiled green and blue's hair in curlers, let dry for two days, and blues's tail held curl, but both their manes unravelled. Oh well :P
After a custom sabbatical I might make my "Friendly" the unicorn from my care bear crossover!
Thank you everyone for the comments lately with Baby Frosting and Gator!!!!!!
Thank you HQG1C for making the blanks!

They turned out amazing! The flaws make them unique, I think. On Blue it looks like sky peaking through clouds. I love their symbols! Great job!
-
I love them! The orange one especially
-
They are gorgeous!!! And I love the concept too!!!
-
These are so pretty!! The unicorn is my favourite, I love how her markings look like clouds <3
-
Oh now, these are something special
Love pkw xxx
-
those are super fun

:enthralled: These ponies are really beautiful and unique! I've never seen anyone do white areas on ponies like that before, wow! Great idea! :iconclap: I like them all! I also love those drawings of them!
Although this is not important, I am curious to know if they have names? ^.^

I love these all, and the new backcard art too!

Heart of Midnight,
I named the Pegasus many years ago Bright Daze. It doesn’t seem right now, but she’s had it so long I’ll let her keep it. The earth pony is Ever Green, and the unicorn is Summer Sky.

Thanks for the reply Gator. They have lovely names. :lovey:

Beautiful! You have a great eye for colour, I love the combos.
-
Oh my gosh these are brilliant in both design and execution!! The green is actually my fave. I like the softer muted look of the white patches. You’re very talented!
-
These are so amazing!! Inspires me to make my own, would that be ok? They're your pony idea, after all!!
:frolic:

Marshie that would be great! I’ve always thought the pony world needed more stars, blazes, snips, socks, spots, etc.! Seashell and Bubbles are the only ponies who got to be a little fancy!
-
Such gorgeous girls!! I really love their symbols!

Wow, these are so cool! Great designs, seems like a legit MLP pony theme, and each one looks lovely. I had no idea you could dye ponies with a mask like how you are describing! Are you the pioneer of this technique?
-
I don’t know if I’m the pioneer. I have seen people doing all sorts of fades and different dying techniques, but I haven’t seen any other spotted ponies other than ones that the spots were painted on.
