Hi guys,

I wasn’t sure where to post this so apologies if it needs moving.

My ponies have been stored in my parents’ loft for the past 5 years. I already felt bad about them being just stuck up there, so had it in mind to sell them. However, my Dad suddenly became sick and died, so now I want to help my Mum be in a position to move somewhere smaller when she’s ready, so my stored stuff really needs to go to help with that.

I’ll have about 150 ponies plus other pony related items to part with, have you got any advice on how to do this? The big issue really is time and energy, I don’t think I can face selling them individually. I know I’d get less for bulk, but really even me just driving and dropping them off at someone’s place would seem more appealing!

If I put them either into sets or maybe 10 or so at a time bunches, what would be reasonable per head to ask for? Plus loads of accessories, outfits, brushes etc.

I am in the north of England, but have friends I’m planning to visit in the south of England so that could widen the area to which collection could be possible.

Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated.
Kind regards,
Jules xx

Hello all 👋🏼
I’m not new but it’s been about 5 years since I was last active on here I think!
Alas, all my ponies have been in storage for that amount of time as well 😔
I’m Jules, from Yorkshire, UK. I still have my childhood ponies, my first one was Cherries Jubilee, I’ve still got her and she’s still beautiful 😍
But since starting to collect as an adult I’ve added a few (ok, a lot!). I’ve been to UK PonyCon only once in Leicester in 2012 or 2013 I think. It was awesome, I loved it so much!!!
Anyway, greetings to you all!!!
🥰

This is wonderful!!! I am currently travelling in Asia, so I will keep my eyes open for these guys. I might get my friends back in England to get whatever gets released there for me if I can't find anything here. So exciting!! The Pony Hunt is on!!

I remember there being something in the UK comics, I don't know if there was ever a competition but I remember there being pictures of people with their collection. It certainly made me want to collect ALL the ponies, I used to study those pictures and wish for the ones I knew the names of!! Thinking about it, some of the pictures could have been of non-UK people because I definitely remember Medley and Firefly being in them, I wanted them so much!!! Little did I know why I'd never seen them in a shop...
I think this was round 1989/90 when I was 7 or 8 (I think we're the same age Taffeta). (On a side note does anyone else remember collecting Esso tokens to send off for items? We got 4 ponies that way.) Sorry for my ramblings, I just find all this stuff really interesting. I wish I'd kept those comics, I gave them away to a school friend when we moved area when I was 11. Otherwise I think I'd still have them until today, my mum kept all my pony stuff. I've often wondered if that girl kept them (slim chance probably).

You know on ladies tops and dresses there are those ribbons on either armpit, I think it's to make hanging them up more secure? I cut them out and use them as pony ribbons. They are often just the right length and not too wide, and some lovely colours!! Also, there's two the same which works well for mums and babies to match.

Yes, I agree. For example, ponies that are called "non-so-soft", but to me I never even knew of the existence of so-soft ponies until as an adult I found this and other sites. So to me, my childhood Posey is not "non-so-soft", she is the only way I knew a Posey could be!!
I like the idea of "International" being used to describe ponies that were sold everywhere.
