Glass beads, help?
« on: May 06, 2012, 04:47:37 AM »

Where can I find just normal plain glass beads for making a necklace? All the places I look have fancy shaped ones or glitter effect, etc etc.

I'm looking for just plain, round beads, ca 10 mm in diameter in clear, vivid shades of blue, red, yellow and green.

Does anyone know of a good source? Please & Thank you!

Have you tried a regular craft store? Something like Michaels should have some.

I've never ordered from http://pandahall.co.uk, but they seem to have what you're looking for.

michaels defiantely has them but it looks like there are no stores near you.

Try artbeads.com  I get some of my stuff there and they are reasonably priced, and have exactly what you are looking for.

Now, I have no idea what happens with overseas shipping (I just pay $2 for cross border shipping) but theres a page there that should have the answar for you.

look on Oriental Trading company, and sometimes even ebay has some nice ones.  I understand your pain...I live in a small town where I can't find any, other than what walmart carries.  I have to go all the way to Ft Worth for them (an almost 45 minute drive for me) just to get to a craft store, and another 15 minutes after that to get to the bead shop...I make sure to stock up for that reason alone.  But, Ebay has some good prices, and so does Oriental trading company.  Firemountaingems is also awesome with HUGE selections of beads...it's easy to get overwhelmed.

You should have just a plain bead shop in your area. You might need to do a search for one. If not try online. There are many companies that sell beads online.

Even if the craft shops in your area haven't got plain beads, I'm sure they can order them. They get their stock from suppliers, who usually have got huge catalogues. Of course, the stores only get what they're most likely to sell, but that doesn't mean they can't make a special order for you. Why don't you just go there and ask?

Yes, I agree, there should be one, unfortunately, there is not.
