Title: Duolingo now offers Klingon!
Post by: Safflower on March 31, 2018, 09:39:45 AM
Duolingo now offers Klingon as an available language to learn! It is currently in beta and not quite a completely finished course yet, though. I might attempt to learn it, or what's more likely to happen, at least a few phrases. I'm a massive Star Trek fan and I love the Klingons :D I already use the insult petaQ under my breath quite a bit. What do you guys think? Anyone going to try and learn it?

Oh! I’m in! I’ve wanted to learn Klingon for some time now. One kid in my art class says a few things in Klingon and I want to understand and be able to reply.

I will have to tell one of my classmates as well, I want to greet him in Klingon in the classes we have together! He is a big Star Trek fan as well.

*snickers* well the resident Klingon has a translation book already.  I think he might enjoy a few hours of this.

What 'cha think, Kiwi? Send a tribble rspv? xDxD

I've never hear of Duolingo, but I'm definitively hooked.
I started some Klingon today.

That's pretty cool, I've never heard of Duolingo either but it sounds like a fantastic tool to learn languages.

Personally I can't learn a 2nd language, I've tried a couple (Japanese for 5 years + Italian casually) and just can't. It's weird, I can learn to read and speak other languages... But I can't comprehend what it means. If I could Klingon would be near the top of the list, as a casual fan it'd be fun.

I still have the audio-cassettes "Conversational Klingon" and "Power Klingon" deep in my cupboard somewhere!  Probably time I upgraded to Duolingo and the 21st century :P
