Has anyone customized a G5? I think they are hideously ugly.... :| I am wondering how they take to customizing.

Why ignore? I think it's a good topic for discussion. I know I'm eagerly waiting to see one of them customised! It's just that they aren't really widely available yet... (Like you, I wonder if a skilled customiser could make them look better, haha!)
I think I've already seen some discussion about the quality and the physical makeup. It's possible they would be harder to customise than previous gens...? Thinking of rehairing, and apparently their heads and bodies are of different material, which might cause issues for full body repaints (then again, G4s already had this and I've never had issues with them when it comes to FBR).
I hope someone can enlighten us soon!

Just had to Google search G5, didn't realise that Hasbro were up to a new generation already!
I agree with you Eruna, the G5's look awful! They don't even look like ponies anymore... I will definitely be sticking with the G1's but look forward to seeing if any customiser out there can improve the G5 design! :lol:

G1 and G3 are the only ones that really look anything at all like ponies/horses in my opinion lol.
I might try to customize a G5 if I can get my hands on one without spending too much money haha

I think the G5 ponies are adorable! They took some getting used to, but after having one sitting on my desk for a while they've really grown on me.
I've been planning on customising a G5 for a while, but I want to start with one of the budget 3in brushables, which as far as I know are still only in Texas at the moment.

I agree with you ... however, I've customized several G4's and although they look more like "Deer" than a "Pony" I love to do Eye Repaints on the Styling size since there's so much room to work with :)

Not yet but I was anticipating trying one soon, maybe a Halloween or Autumn custom. :) I might pick up an extra Sunny styling pony to take apart, I'll document it if I do!
