We did it. I'm married!

I know I mentioned the wife and I planning to get married in a different state (we do have domestic partnership papers but they don't mean squat) and then having a small ceremony with our friends. It has still all been in the planning stages.

Then yesterday shook everything up. I'm sure many of you heard the marriage ban was struck down in Arkansas Friday. Couples from all over were driving to the one town in our state that has the court house open on a Saturday to get married.

There is nothing that would have stopped us except my sisters graduation was this morning. I was not going to be selfish and miss her big day. Monday though the wife and I are getting up at the crack of dawn and my sister is attending. I know things could get rocky if they decide to appeal so we are doing it now!

I know not everyone here agrees with same sex couples but wish me luck anyway. My stomach is in knots hoping we get it and afraid if we miss it. I cannot think of anything more important to me than actually being seen as a married couple (even though we have been "married" five years) and having the same rights as others.
