Jemcon?
« on: August 26, 2016, 07:43:22 PM »
Anyone ever been? Is it good? Does it focus on the original line or more of the new integrity collection?

Im familiar with the area (Albany NY) and the hotel that its in is pretty small, so I was wondering if the  price of admission was worth the number of vendors selling and the diversity of panels... Any info you guys have would be super appreciated!

Thanks!!!

I went to jemcon 2006, 2007, 2009, 2012. I loved it and I love the people. If you want to meet other Jem fans and meet some people that worked on the show then you need to go. I wish I could go again, just costs a lot to travel and lodge on trips. X)

If it's worth the price depends on what experience you are looking for. There is always a vendors room, I've seen small vendor rooms to fairly good sized vendor rooms some years. Depends on the location and who wants to vend. I have been a vendor before. Actually I was on jemcon staff for years before. They have panels to go to and a dance. So if you like to cosplay Jem then this is the place to do it!

A friend has told me that jemcon is a lot smaller of an event now a days so maybe it's different from when I last went. :)

Yes. I went last year and I am going this year.

The Jem fans are super friendly and inviting. It's a really small show where everyone attends every panel together.  I never met a group of people at a convention that were more friendly.  Everyone compliments everyone on their costumes. The crowd is definitely more 80s cartoon then integrity but there are many people there that collect integrity.  The actors from the show are a lot of fun too. Ari Gold was taking selfies with us last year.  Britta was singing with fans during the karaoke portion of the masquerade.  It's small, intimate, and a lot of fun.

I hope you come. I would love to meet more pony people.

Jemcon was here in my hometown of Portland, ME! When was it... -checks Google- Whoa, 2013? 3 years ago! Time flies. o.0

It was a cute convention though it was definitely very small. I remember there was only a few rooms that had stuff in it. There was one dealer's room, one room showing episodes on a tv, and one larger room for events/panels/cosplay masquerade. I'm more used to anime conventions, where multiple things are going on at one time.

One cool thing is that my childhood friends attended. :) They are a well-known Jem reinactment band! Their lead singer is very good and they all cosplayed and performed a bunch of cool Jem songs. :)
Thank you Thimble for my amazingly cute avatar!
