G1 MLP comics: I KNOW WHO WROTE THE SMOOZE COMIC NOW!

It's interesting, as I've seen original comics from around that time but I haven't seen the smooze comic on ebay.uk ever. The highest Friends fantasy one I've seen on
ebay.uk this year is 24, which seems to be unusually common.
Could you scan your copy of#30?

How long have you been looking for on ebay UK? Sometimes it is all about patience unfortunately.

Oh, I've been looking for a good seven months now, and nothing's there.
It's odd, because back in November, #29 was there, but no 30.
I've also seen both 170 and 171 from the same month as the smooze comic for sale this year, but no smooze comic itself.
(sighs) I know it's a later one, but it's usually rare for even a later one.

While we're on the subject of the comics.... Which issue had the story of how the TEs became TEs? Wasn't that issue a UK exclusive?

The main comics were only available in the UK; although Germany had its own run of the same style but shorter and slightly different run.

There were 2 issues in regards the TEs - issue 35 for the first set of TEs and then issue 42 for the second set of TEs.

That's what I thought. I didn't think the comics were ever sold in the USA. The reason I was asking was that because my guy friend told me that when he was a kid he read a comic that told the story of how the TE ponies became TEs. Now I had heard of this comic before on here. And I was also pretty sure that it wasn't something that you could buy in the USA. My guy friend grew up in CA. That's about as far away from the UK as you can get. When he told me this my reaction was like  I was like wait a second... what? How!?! Of course I start grilling him trying to figure out how he got a hold of a UK comic back in the '80s. He doesn't remember. He remembers reading it... but he doesn't remember if the comic belonged to him or a friend, where the comic came from or anything like that. He only remembers the story in the comic. 

Has anybody scanned in the comic with this story? I'd love to read it myself. And I'd also love to give a copy to my friend.

Yes, sailorstitch. Ladymoondancer has scanned the entirety of the issue in on the Lexicon.
The issue with the TE origin was actually in issue 11, and it was called " Applejack's amazing adventure.'
Maybe today, hathorcat will have gotten the smooze comic in. I know she will have kept to her word about it, as practically everyone wants to see.

@sailorstitch - its amazing the distances pony things can travel! In the 80s holidays to and from the US/UK were becoming common and there is even the possibility of relatives or friends of course. Its amazing sometimes to think where things came from. I am in south west Scotland and in my local car boot sales years ago a collector found both an Indian pony and a Vennie if I remember right [although at the time no one knew what the latter was].

When was the smooze comic last on ebay? Do you know anyone who has a copy of 30 to sell?

I dont know exactly when it was last on, all I can honestly tell you is to have patience and it will rear its head again. It has taken me 10 years to round out my comic collection and I am still missing some of the early MLP & Friends and late MLP comic. You will find it eventually.

If you are looking to purchase it you can post over in the Wanted forum and see if any one has one for sale or even ad an "advertisement" in you signature to say you are looking for it and perhaps someone will spot it and be able to help you out.

Wildshadow I can link you to a couple of helpful online sites which offer good watermark options if it helps you at all Just pm me if you wish.

That was great! A Mountain Boy, a Big Brother pony, Majesty, the witches and the Smooze all together in one story!? How can that not be awesome?

Although, to be honest, I've found that a lot of these comics have great setups but not the best climaxes. Still a fun read, though -- Hydia's TV was pretty amusing (why have rabbit ears when you can have HORNS!).

(Hmm...a 13-year-old girl being pursued by something that will give her a bad attitude if she comes in contact with it...a metaphor for adolescence, perhaps?  )

If you post over in Sigs and Site Support asking for help, I am sure someone will talk you through adding a signature to your profile; it is all inside your Forum Profile. And as for an avatar, I would guess you need to track down the comic and then scan in the section you wish to be your avatar and then again upload it in your Forum Profile.
