Well you know, in G3 we had core7, now it's mane 6...So maybe next MLP will revolve around 5 main characters.  (I would not be too surprised, lazy hasbro!)

I think it's probably because she isn't "girly" enough which is sad. We have plenty of representations of girly girls in media, and even in MLP. What about tom boys and hard workers? They need to be represented, too. I definitely don't want Applejack to get "girlier"

This. Applejack is my favorite of the main six. I really like the rest of the Apple family as well.

*sniffle* AJ's my favorite too. I'm always fervently looking for any wearables with her on them! Luckily I did get her in a pack of hairclips that my friend bought for me. That was a good day.

I was pretty frustrated that she wasn't one of this month's McPonies because the pink in her hair would have been so cute!

I have this set of hairclips as well, but guess what? My AppleJack one broke while the rest are intact! HAHAHA!

I have a package of six pairs of mlp socks from Target.  You think that would be perfect, the mane 6 right? Wrong.. they left AJ out, and put two different colored pairs with Rainbow Dash instead...

Now that's pretty sad!

Applejack is definitely not being cut out of the core cast.  She is an integral part of My Little Pony and she will always be part of the Magic of Friendship, after all, without Applejack, there would be no Loyalty. 

 

Applejack still has a huge presence when it comes to toys and we often split characters up to include them in different waves of assortments.  If Applejack is not currently seen, it may be because we’re including her in something else later on.

I notice that most of these items are licensed items.  It seems most likely that the licensing company's are the ones making decisions on which ponies to highlight on their own packaging/items.  As others have said, Applejack is neither rainbows or pink. 

I have to admit that orange is *my* least favorite color. I like her country personality on the show but in terms of shear aesthetics, she is my least favorite pony. I suspect that others feel the same way, thus why she isn't as popular as the other ponies.

I used to wonder if it was partly a colour clash thing. So often, as others have mentioned, the items are licensed and perhaps have pink or white or purple packaging. Fluttershy, Pinkie, Twilight and Rarity's colour schemes are the most complimentary to the general MLP branding and packaging. However, if this theory was true we would also see less of Rainbow Dash, who with her bright colours could also be said to clash sometimes. So I guess its just active AJ alienation
