my first pony restore best wisehs (pic hvy)
« on: July 21, 2012, 02:32:37 PM »
so..  as most of you know last weekend i went to the flea market..  and found ponys galore! for a good budget.  well  i am going to possibly attempt to practice  deflocking and other things.  so i found best wishes  here.  she  was a little beat up. so i deicde hey you know i'll take her home and see if i can Fix her up.  here this is where i'll  be putting my progress and you guys cn give me tips on how to properly do it? XD

this is the  before.

as you can see..  theres silver glitter glue all over her.  every little inch of her wing.  and on her legs. and her forehead.  with the help of hot water  and a  mr clean magic eraser i managed to get the  glue soft enough to pull off. i  did get it all. the wings were the hardest part. i broke a nail doing it ><  she is currentl  drying a thte moment.  but this is  her current look.  while  i try and find a good.. deflocking tutorial.

also.. upon  looking at her close.  After her bath.  and  shampoo. i will have to rehair he.  as she has.. a haircut. and her hair  is far too dry adn frizzy.

her currently

i will say one thing.. the little kid at least was even..  both ings the exact same spots were glued.

the update!

so i got her  head finally  unhaired that was a nightmare. >< the good news is that her tail  hair is savable all it needed ws a good washing and conditning.  her head had to be deflocked becuae  it was rubbed  badly.  her body  has almost perfect flocking. so  i will rehair  and  reflock her head!

Gosh what weird glitter glue additions! You have done well to get that off...there are good tutorials for both deflocking and reflocking - both should be in one of the stickies at the top of the Customs forum :) Good luck with whichever you decide to do

She's definitely a TON cleaner:)  Good luck if you reflock.  I've never done it before.

What a nice job getting rid of the glitter glue! ^.^  Ya know, her flocking (where it is still) looks pretty nice & clean, if you decide to reflock, she will prolly look great!

But if you decide to deflock, get ready to break more nails!

Good Luck on what ever you decide to do  :)

She'll look great either way!  But I might lean towards the reflock as the rest of her flocking looks pretty good!

This is the only tutorial I know of for flocking...

I would suggest you ask over in customs for specific advise if you are still not sure from this tutorial :)

Oooo, keep up the good work, and keep those updates coming!  I'm following with great interest.  I may (someday) attempt a touchup on my Wind Whistler, where she rubbed when I washed her.  In the meantime, I wish you best wishes with Best Wishes! ;)
