Title: A Question about Snuzzle
Post by: cookifaa on April 20, 2018, 02:07:32 PM
So, I am going through my ponies and reorganizing them (again) and i noticed something about my lovely Snuzzle. Instead of having 11 pink hearts on both side, she has 12 on her right side and eleven on the left. Is this normal?

I've been going through all the different Snuzzles shown on the mlp wiki and I noticed that the Retro Snuzzle also has 12 hearts, but my girl isn't a retro. I would normally compare her to other ponies, but I only have the one of her.

Could a Snuzzle expert help me? Thanks!

I had a look at a couple of eBay listings for her (I don’t own her) and she does indeed have 11 on one side and 12 on the other.

I don’t have a clue why they wouldn’t use the same stamp for both sides? I wonder if peachy and the other collector pose ponies have the same

I would say it's normal~ My Snuzzle is just the same and she's definitely a regular Snuzzle as I am in Canada and there's just no way there'd be an odd nirvana Snuzzle here without someone ordering her in (I do think we got some of the UK ponies, but I'm very sure we didn't get any unusual variants).

I checked 3 Snuzzles - one FF and two CF and all three have 11 on one side and 12 on the other.

That made me check my FF Butterscotch, she has 7 butterflies on one side and 6 on the other!!

Curiosity got the better of me so I checked a few more:

FF Minty: 11 on both
CF Blue Belle: 12 on both
CF Blossom: 11 on both
MO Blossom: 11 on both
Peachy: 11 on one, 12 on the other

So there you have it.

There is no UK variant of Snuzzle ;)

She was sold over multiple years here, though, through various different releases. I am guessing we were the dumping ground for leftover mail order ponies, as she came as a freebie with Baby Bow Tie's stroller in Argos in 1986ish and then took over the Grooming Parlour in 1987 and that's some years after the original release would have been in stores...chances are there could have been batch differences. BUT it sounds like it's not uncommon.

I would assume it is just normal and one of the weird things that don't make sense about Hasbro.

Thank you for the help! I was just confused while i was looking at her, I've never noticed it before! How weird...
After reading all your replies, I decided to count all of Cotton Candy's spots, and on her right side she has 38 and on her left she has 44.

Hasbro obviously just wanted to make our lives hard and thought that it would be fun to use different stamps -.-

Thank you again for the help!

I have another question, its not about Snuzzle, its about Bow Tie.

Are the year two Bow Ties meant to have white bows? I have two in the shy pose, and one has very obviously pink bows and the other has very clearly white bows. My first thought was that they had faded to white, but it is obvious they havent?

I feel like complete pony newbie haha!

Edit: I just thought id add that she has a very dark blue body compared to my other bow ties!

I went insane trying to find photos online when I noticed my Butterscotch had a different number of symbols on each side. You are not alone!
I have no idea about the Bow ties tho.
