i caved and bought aurora and milky way from US amazon. $20 shipping to canada made me cry inside but i'd regret it forever if i missed half the set

These are trickling in to me from Amazon. This is the most exciting thing they’ve done for us, I think. I’ve been out of the loop … do we have any other releases coming in the future?

Don't like Amazon but I just gave in and ordered the Celestials from them anyway. They're expected to arrive between the 7th and 8th of next month.

Do the six ponies in the package vary? Those aren't the six I received.

I got, like you: Twilight, Moondancer, Applejack, and Bowtie. But I didn't get Gusty or Starflower. Instead I got Firefly and Medley. Were Gusty and Starflower even in that movie? What's going on?  lol

I think Firefly and Medley are the correct ponies you're supposed to get since they're on the back on the package.  I think Gusty and Starflower are blind boxed, so someone must have made a mistake at the factory.

Those aren’t the ponies that came in the box. Just the ones I left on display in front of the box.  Sorry for the confusion!  I didn’t even think about it.

My Nova arrived yesterday. The box is so beautiful. I mean, the pony is too, but the whole thing has been so carefully designed. Right now I've left her in the box. I haven't ruled out getting another one to take out and keep loose, but there's something momentous about a first brand new G1 pony since the mid 1990s.

I didn't even realize until now, but there is almost NOTHING I want more than for Basic Fun to re-release the Tales ponies. They never even came out in the US, where the show aired!!

All of those would be amazing... out of those I'd probably go for the Movie pack, mini Flutters would be so darling <3

What I'd really kill for are toys of the cartoon-exclusive characters, like Tirac, Catrina and Rep, the Witches, Queen Bumble and Sting, Knight Shade, Zeb and Erebus (Okay, no one but me wants these two, but still ), etc. It'll never happen but it'd be amazing if it did...

I didn't even realize until now, but there is almost NOTHING I want more than for Basic Fun to re-release the Tales ponies. They never even came out in the US, where the show aired!!

The show aired in Europe too, where the ponies were sold, albeit I'm not sure it aired here in the UK until 1995. I first saw it from tapings done on Sky 1 by a friend of my sister's. We didn't have cable at the time.

I always feel like it's a fair trade, though. We had Medley, Firefly, GLory, Powder etc all through the early eighties in our comics and our storybooks, but we never had the ponies in the UK until Basic FUn released the retros.

Because of that, I can 100% understand why US fans want the Tales ponies made by BF. I'm still waiting for Powder (wishful thinking!) but there's a particular joy in finally picking up a pony in a store that you longed for in vain as a young kid.

I also think a tales pack of blind bags would be amazing. I think a pack with the seven girls in would be nice, and then maybe some blind bags with other key characters (I would say definitely Ace, Lancer, Teddy, but there are other options that were actual toys. The Meadowsweets/Berrytowns/Sunbrights might come into it, but I was thinking more like Rockin' Beats and Glowing Magic ponies, given they existed. Other characters that could appear as specials might be Meadowlark, or Squire, or the TV presenter whose name is eluding me (Dazzle? Something like that?)

I'd like a Shady figure but I don't like the movie Shady, so I would rather she was scattered as a blind bag than in a set. Ditto Magic Star. I'd also like Paradise. I love Paradise *_*. A set with them, Truly and Cupcake would be nice...

This is just as blind bags though.

I don't need flutters. I feel like flutters can't be done justice if they aren't so delicate they're about to fall apart just by looking at them *lol*.

I don't expect to ever see Mountain Boys. Hasbro US probably could grant a licence for them given they have the overall pony copyright, but since they're not in the US catalogue, there's a good chance that they haven't come up in BF discussions. Big Brothers may be more likely.

All of this said. I think we will probably end the retros with this year's anniversary stuff. Maybe the blind bags will continue. Not sure the toys will - but that's fine, too. We've already been spoiled.
