Tired of ugly FiM ponies? Especially boys?

Although I wasn't sure of that fat chubby classmate for awhile, but I got over it... I wonder where little pipsqueek is too.

I don't mind ugly ponies, but I do mind when they have beard and when they look too human, like many of the old ponies do.

Yeah, I think thats why I dislike some of the ponies with facial hair as well as the "elder" ponies. They look too human in some parts or just not equine at all. Before I actually knew much of anything about MLP or MLP G4 a friend of mine was posting image marcos of FiM and was able to identity the characters as being ponies or horse based before I actually knew it was from MLP. But had it been say, Snips, Snails, or Mr. Waddle I would have thought there were pigs or bulldogs or something.

And while I also dislike the Big Lebowski and Roid Rage designs, I realize those are just gags/jokes and not something standard.

I don't even want to collect the boy ponies this generation, with their sharp rectangular muzzles and jaws, and weird droopy eyes that often look like they're melting off the face (heh, Celestia suffers from eye-melt too). And I echo some other people's complaints about how there's not enough colour diversity in the boys as well.

I liked the Flim Flam brother's face design much more than the "regular" boys.

Ooh yes! I do agree with this. They don't look as odd as most of the other male ponies. And I also like their tails that look like pieces of bacon--I've taken to calling them the Bacon Bros.

I prefer the midnight castle designs, which were done by Toei, to the bizarre G3 look. I just wonder what a stallion would look like in that style! ^^

I like the unique ponies!! I agree that the cookie-cutter background ponies can get boring, especially when there are clones in the same scene.

I also like ponies with facial hair. Fancypants is one of my favorite side characters, and I like Flam as well.

The ugly ones aren't my favorites (snips and snails drive me batty, but it's more because of their personalities lol), but they are comic relief.  I started calling the muclehead pony "Roidy" in my head (it explains the teeny wings, lol).  But I love the name Horse Power as an actual name, it's adorable!  I don't really see a problem with the others having similar body styles, just because of animation technicalities.  That would be so difficult to actually accomplish!

Ok, everyone has their own opions. But as for me and my sister, we're just fed up with them. Now, a couple of people took me the wrong way. I DO like the new body types. I'm COMPLETELY fine with them. It's just the UGLY ones I don't like so much. And I do like Snips and Snails, AND ponies with facial hair, AND some other strange looking ponies. I'm ALSO fine with boy ponies, because the title of my post made it sound like I don't. I LOVE THEM. I just wanted to clear this all up because I was starting to feel like everyone was taking me the wrong way. I LIKE UNIQUE PONIES!!!

Just watched Hurricane Fluttershy....yeah, not really feelin' any love for that buff white peg. He really did seem like something out of Ren and Stimpy o_O which totally doesn't mesh well with MLP. =P

Thank you, PinkRosedust! That's exactly how I felt. I have no problem with unique body shapes and all, but I just thought his Ren and Stimpy face was nasty. Now, don't get me wrong, I was a big R and S fan, but the idea of its grossness mixed with ponies.... EWWW! lol

Also, what bothers me most about the male flowers is their limited colors. Last episode had some good designs but next episode there will again be a new male character they just slap brown on. And muliticolored manes....there are far too little flowers with muliticolored manes.

This so much! Really why can't the boys have pastelly coats? Because that's girly? The show wants to break stereotypes but I've yet to see a pink boy pony in FiM :/ I almost screamed out of happiness when I saw a purple one with white mane in the perfect stallion song
