I wonder if his head could go on a normal pony body? I have seen boy customs using girl ponies that the only thing changed was the head.

Eh, they're okay.  I might buy the set simply to support the idea of boy ponies - hopefully this means we will get more in the future. 

I don't hate Shining Armor's hair; I'm not fond of it but I can live with it.  Cadence doesn't impress me atm but I want to wait until I see the season finale - if I like their characters on the show then there's a bigger chance I'll want the ponies.

I'm torn about the castle right now. Half of me just wants the lovely couple, while my inner child secretley wants the whole set! Hopefully they'll do a seperate release of just them without the castle at some point, though I doubt it. Ah, well, maybe I'll just get the whole set!

It'll be great for display purpose too, because it's not specifically a wedding castle. I'm almost more excited about the castle than the pony set (almost).

Still hoping Cadance will will end up with gradient wings on her actual release. I don't mind Shining's hair, he's adorable!

I don't think so. It's probably way too huge a noggin.

Actually, if the neck set up is the same, you could just swap the heads out and modify the head a tad. Of course I'm only basing this assumption from the fact Celestia/regular and filly brushables are all interchangeable by the neck. It's a matter of aesthetics if anything... I mean, when I made my Fancypants custom, I stuck a Twilight head on a G3 McD's body and while the body was larger, the head isn't too bad:

I'm so excited! I managed to get cadence the first time she appeared on taobao (not sure how, she sold out before my order finished) but was hoping shining armor would show up too.  I managed to get him too so they'll both be otw to me soon <3 yay!  I love both of them so I can't wait!
