Appropriate things to wear to Dream Castle (UK annual 1987)

Apparently the ponies are going to visit Majesty at Dream Castle.

Someone doesn't seem to be dressed quite right for an afternoon tea party. Or, if she is...there are questions that need answering...

I'm also wondering why everyone is wearing a costume except for Applejack, Cotton Candy, Glory and Heartthorb.  Are they not invited, or did they forget it was a costume party like Bowtie in that UK ponywear ad? 

Also is this some kind of magical tea party where snow suits and wedding dresses are appropriate attire for the same event?

...I just find pictures like this hilarious. I hadn't noticed till now that Posey brought a bouquet. Confetti's wedding dress is the most crazy, but yeah, the ice dance outfit, the rainbow onesies the babies have and the ballerina outfit are a bit much too. There are four baby onesies. Bridesmaid outfits?

Think it's Honeycomb in the ballerina outfit.

Tootsie and Lemon Drop are like, well, we came dressed for a party...

Hasbro forgot that other baby outfits are available??

Though there is a story in a comic I found recently where Lollipop sends all the babies out in identical bunny suits. So maybe there's an outfit of the month thing going on here.

@Ponyfan, this was printed at the end of 1986 so a bit too early for Ruby I think. All the other ponies are 1985 or 1986 releases in the UK - or not released here at all (eg Sparkler, Heart Throb) but also out in Europe in 1986.
