Pony Corral / Re: Southeast Pony meet 2018! (our 8th year!!) 9/15/18
« on: September 11, 2018, 09:15:54 PM »
I'm coming! I just moved back to GA and I totally scheduled the move around the pony meet to make sure I would be able to come. :P

Just FYI, my chronic illness has gotten very bad in the last few months (hence moving back to my mom's house), so I will probably be using a walker and be a little less active than usual (not that I'm usually the most active person in the world, anyway). I feel like I should warn about the walker because people are usually shocked when they see me using that or my cane. People are weird. :/

Anyway, I can't wait to see everyone, and I'll be sad to miss the faces who won't be able to make it!

About to finish Persona 5 (unless I can't do it, which is very possible because I'm not the best gamer and wasted a lot of resources on a miniboss. Ugh. lol).
I salute you -- I've never actually been able to get to the end of a Persona game.

Oh noooo I have a Gamestop credit card so this could potentially put me in more debt... (I think I can be strong.)

I would like to have any version of her but I'm not seeking her out. If I find her for a good deal I'd definitely get her.

Woah, Jem dolls at thrift! :D I would be thrilled to find any Jem dolls, even ones with regrind or other problems. Great finds! :)

Yeah that scene at the end made me wonder why the movie was only rated PG-13. But I guess it might be good for kids (older kids) to see the movie to understand the history. Maybe the parents could just turn it off right before the end?

I'm probably going to write a paper for my Rhetoric class on Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice, so if I have time I'm going to dive back in and try to beat that game.

I would be really excited if they were releasing the set for PS4, but as it is I'm sure I'll still get the re-releases. I just kinda feel like they've re-released Myst a million times already so how is this going to be different? But I haven't played the games in a really long time so it's probably time for a revisit. :)

Off Topic / Re: Chronic Illness and Toy Collecting
« on: June 07, 2018, 07:34:40 PM »
I've  been chronically ill and disabled since I was born. I've also been a pony collector basically since I was born. I have more chronic illnesses than I can even remember to list, but I'll try: Fibromyalgia, PCOS, Endometriosis, Tachycardia (still no explanations from the doctors why I have this), several mental illnesses that are kinda personal, chronic migraines, pre-diabetes, and probably more that I can't remember. I take so much medication I'm basically a walking pharmacy. Sometimes I use a walker, sometimes I use a cane. And I have another mysterious chronic illness that they've been trying to properly diagnose but so far I haven't gotten a proper diagnosis or treatment plan for it (at least I got a biopsy and they know it's not cancer).

I, too, have a lot of trouble maintaining my pony collection. I moved recently and my mom took most of my ponies to her house because she didn't think I would have the time or energy to do anything with them (and I'm in a smaller apartment). It is nearly impossible for me to stand at the sink long enough to properly wash even one or two ponies, but I have found that a cup of water and a magic eraser can travel -- so I can sit on the couch or in bed and use the magic eraser with the cup of water to clean ponies. It doesn't get their hair detangled, but it gets their exteriors clean, anyway.

I just watched In This Corner of the World. It was rough. Maybe not as bad as Grave of the Fireflies, but still pretty brutal. I kinda want to try to read the manga again. I had started it before but stopped reading because I didn't really like the art style.

I just watched Your Name and it's really good. :)

Ponyfan

It is soooo good!

I just watched Mary and the Witch's Flower and that was pretty good, too! It definitely had a Studio Ghibli feel.

yessss it's so good!! Apparently it was made by some ex-Ghibli workers. I liked it a lot ^^

Yes, and Miazaki (sp?) was consulted on the making of the film so he's in the credits. When I saw that their logo looked a lot like the Ghibli logo I had to look it up. :)
