Pony Fairs! / Re: Pony Fair 2022 - June 25-26th - Tampa, FL

How do you guys plan to pay for ponies you buy at the fair? The last time I went, everyone used the PayPal app. Is that still the preferred method of payment?
I'm bringing cash, but I'll also be leaving some money in the bank for Paypal use.

Somehow I don't have Twist even though I love pretzels, so she's at the top of my wishlist right now!

I'm planning to go, but I have some questions about ticket prices that are maybe a bit private in nature -- should I DM someone here with my questions or should I message the Facebook group?

Also, I know if I'm not vending I'm not allowed to sell ponies, of course, but I have a tote bag full of mostly common ponies I'd be interested in trading if anyone wants to trade, maybe for other common ponies. Is trading allowed?

Thanks! And I can't wait to see everyone there!

I'll be there!

*Looks at poll* Poor Speedy! I wonder if so few people voted for her because her mold has that issue of not wanting to stand up. That's my issue with her.

The twinkle eyes are my favorite type of pony so this would be hard, honestly. Of course I would get Mimic because even if I find her at an affordable price someone else is always quicker than me, so I still don't have her. Tic-tac-toe and Bright Eyes are some of my favorites, and Locket is one I had as a kid, so those are my four.

I'm in the process of listing a bunch of toys -- both vintage and modern -- on my Instagram sales page. I really need money for my trip to Disney, so everything has to go! Please browse and feel free to make offers. You can send me a message on here or on IG if you want to make an offer or buy anything (comments work, too!). I will have Care Bears, Disney Toys, Funko, MLP, and other brands for sale. If it doesn't sell here or on IG, I will soon be listing it all on ebay.

Here are the links:

I have several listings for vintage dolls on ebay right now. I have most of them in lots but if you just want one let me know and I can split up the lot (of course if someone makes a bid on ebay before you do that I'll have to honor that bid)! These have to go soon, so you can make an offer and I'll probably accept it! I'll be adding more stuff soon. You can also check out my Instagram sales page to see other dolls, ponies, and toys I'm selling. Feel free to make an offer on anything!

MLP Nirvana / Re: Which pony would you like Sanat to leave under your tree?
« on: December 05, 2018, 01:32:26 AM »
Well if I, myself, am Santa, then I guess Santa will be leaving a big huge bundle of Pony Wear under the tree. Cuz that's what I just bought myself on ebay. ;P

But if Santa is real than I want... maybe Macau Jenny? Not sure how he's gonna swing that, though.

The Dollhouse / ID/PC: My mom's original Barbie doll!
« on: December 05, 2018, 01:13:56 AM »
I just opened the box from the basement that housed my childhood doll collection, which included my mom's original Barbie. I don't know what year she's from but I suspect '59 or '60. She has her original black/white striped bathing suit and a dress that I think was released separately in 1960? She has no other accessories and she's in kinda bad condition -- her hair is thin and her makeup is a bit chipped. When I look at old Barbies on ebay the prices are all over the place, and I don't know what factors make the dolls more or less valuable. I'm definitely not planning on selling my mom's doll, but I do want to know what her value is. I'm hoping there are some doll experts who can tell me maybe what year she is from and what factors contribute to her value or lack of value.

There's a picture of her at the following link (my Instagram):

The Dollhouse / Re: Anyone remember the Tyco Quints Dolls?

Yep I had some... I used them as newborns for my Barbie dolls :)
That's what I did! I'm pretty sure they're still packed away with my childhood Barbie dolls.

Pony Corral / Re: The Mysterious Case of 3.5 Stickers
« on: November 03, 2018, 08:53:34 PM »
G 3.5 stuff didn't sell very well at all, and a lot of stores still haven't gotten rid of their stock. I know I continuously saw G 3.5 merch, like stickers, for years after G4 had started, and if I saw them now I probably wouldn't give it a second thought. I'll bet if I went looking for them right now I could find them easily.

Off Topic / Re: Golden Girls Cereal Skyrocketing 0_0
« on: October 28, 2018, 06:32:05 PM »
A Golden Girls cereal box would be cool to own, but only if it were actually from the 80s.

I saw someone buy the Rice Crispies box that the Christmas Stocking Baby Pony came from at a pony fair -- I think they paid $15 or $20? And that was just for the box. I would probably pay that much or more for that particular box, honestly. I'm not into Funko re-creations, though. Unless they make Funko Pops of G1 ponies -- I would consider getting those. :/

I also know a lot of people in the gaming community have boxes of Mario cereal that still have the cereal in them, but I don't care about that personally so I have no idea how much those go for.

That's really interesting. It looks like a lot of the information they share in that article is stuff the pony community has already discovered through trial and error. For instance:

Some of these plastics will dissolve under particular cleaning products, and some are more vulnerable to cracking.

It will be interesting to see how they preserve these plastic artifacts through the next few decades.

I have bouts of not being on here. For the last few months I haven't been around much because of health issues. Also I just haven't been using my computer much lately. Otherwise I usually spend most of my time on here. I'm hoping to get back to that.

I keep going back and watching this video I took of my dog the other day. I hope she can make you smile, too:
