I had to mail a letter to Australia today and I was a bit wary, but to my surprise it was only $1.15! :whoa: I had no idea overseas stamps were so affordable!
I know the price skyrockets when you're mailing a little package, but it seems like letters and postcards are pretty affordable right now! Would anyone like to be penpals with someone from New England? I don't write long letters, but I would love to have someone to send postcards or short letters to, and maybe cute flat things like stickers and bookmarks.
I love nature, wildlife, MLP, dragons, Japanese culture, folktales from anywhere, Halloween, cross stitch, arts n' crafts, writing children's books, and reading tarot cards. If any of that sounds fun to you, send me a PM!
I promise I won't go overboard sending you stuff lol. Maybe we could send each other a postcard or letter once a month or two?
PS: It doesn't have to be someone overseas, if you're in the USA and you want a penpal! A regular stamp is even cheaper than an overseas stamp. ;)

Sending you a PM! :)

I've never had a penpal before but I'd love to try! I live in Canada

I'm in the US, but would be happy to be your pen-pal! I write long letters, but I can try to make it short. I love trading postcards and stickers too. I have lots of pen-pals, but would love to have a couple more. Anyone who is interested, PM me! I love animals (especially kitties and horses), reading, writing, music, model horses, enchanted kingdom horses, Supernatural, The Last Unicorn, Spirit, art, crafts, flowers, gemstones/crystals, rainbows, singing, psychology, and more.

Didn't the Internet pretty much kill the idea of pen-pals?

Space pinto, it's only dead if you don't like getting physical mystery objects in the mail that you can then open, read, enjoy, and potentially use to decorate your stuff.(yaystickers!)
Then you get to respond!
So no, penpals aren't dead. It was never really about sending information, or even staying in contact, anyway. It's about trading a letter with someone far away. :)
That being said, I'm in Japan, and if any of these other nice people who have commented would like a postcard or something, pm me. No reason we can't branch out, since there seems to be some interest, lol.
Edit: guess I should add my intetests, lol. Whoops. I collect postcards, official, handmade, any kind really. I also letters and stickers. Tell me about where you live, what's cool, weird, famous, must-see, etc. Or just any place you like and want to recommend, lol.
I love flowers and gardens, mlp/anything equine shaped, purple, blue, and teal.
Really, I'm good with anything you want to send. Let me know whether you'd rather have a photo postcard or a handmade
art one. :)

Just as much as the keyboard killed penmanship.
:P Anyway, totally, who doesn't love getting stuff in the mail like Thimble said.

lol yes, exactly!
I have a bunch of people who have posted here and pm'd me, so I am no longer looking for penpals! :D But if anyone else wants penpals, feel free to use this thread to ask.
Now I gotta pm everyone back, and keep a list to keep my 'pals straight. XD

Heeey, DF, did I miss the window? :)
Also, anybody who wants to swap cards and such, pm me. I have one swap going, I'm up for a couple more. Doesn't have be a letter, a postcard or artists trading card is also great. :)

I wouldn't mind doing a postcard pen pal as I always loved postcards when I was a kid and send them to my relatives. :3 Sometimes I would send in little trinkets as well if it's a letter.
