Take your time, practise, & cheat a bit if needed. I hate painting fine details, so I dip a pencil in paint for that. And yep, the right thickness is essential for fine details.

I use the rooting tool from Debra Myer (love that tool) & when I add tinsel to hair I add one strand per plug, at the same time as the plug, then root the lot in, like I did here. I recently made a start on increasing my Butterscotch collection, & got 25th (falls over so I call her Topplescotch) an Italian (the pale-haired one I call Buttercream) & this 35th one. Her hair is a bright golden yellow rather than the golden brown of the original so I call her Goldenscotch.

I will get to my Wantlist eventually, but for now I'm just asking for this. Druzilla emailed to say she'd sold out of this adorable Baby Boy, Maple, so I'm asking here. I'm in the UK if that helps to calculate postage costs. I can pay in just over a week & have a Paypal account. Cheers if you have this adorable Baby Boy looking for a loving new home.
UPDATE: though the Pony wasn't cheap, there IS a Maple heading my way right now woohoo!!! So this is now changing to the next MOST WANTED PONY on my list: the winter pegasus Snowel. And I MEAN the pegasus!!! If you have her in good condition (I might not even need her halo), then please let me know. So far eBay is failing me when it comes to finding this gorgeous Pony, so I'm asking here. Rest of Wantlist stays as normal
UPDATE: As the title says I Found Snowel the pegasus & she's beautiful!!! So now the next most wanted Pony, Fern the G2 Baby, is in her place. I do keep looking for her, but she hardly turns up, & even less alone. I'm not interested in the Ivy she comes with; just her. She's the last G2 Baby with a family I need (I even have Floral & Baby Petal now).
OPDATE: A very nice person knocked Fern & another G2 off the wantlist for me, so now my most wanted G3s are up. They are NOT CHEAP, so I may have to do instalments if you have them!!! Beach Belle & Caribbean Delight are now my header Ponies

Most of my Schleichs are cats, dogs & other pets for the Ponies, except a tiger shark for Bakana's collection

G1:- I like BBEs. They add extra poses & are a bit younger than non-BBEs
I prefer Boys to have furry hooves & am one of those who calls Sportstime & Schoolbag girls, while Customising Family Friends Daddies in furry hooves poses
I don't see the Pony cartoons as canon, & consider the UK stories more canon, while the cartoons were just Ponies acting. Even Tales is a Pony soap to me & the Characters are trying to live normal lives after their acting days
G2:- I like a lot of them & never got the hate. To me they're the same age as Dabble, Scribbles & the HQG1C wingless flutters. Plus the Babies are similar in age to Teeny G1s
G3:- I hate the fact they only have symbols on one side!!!
I love Newborn Cuties, & have Customised Newborn cuties of all the Soft Newborns I own, plus some others.
I don't like how G3s were portrayed in cartoons one bit. Far too babyish, & that's the adults.
G4:- So very small!!! As in a G4 adult is the same size as a G1 Baby!!!
Again, symbols on one side
Don't like the term cutie mark. What's wrong with rump??? Or hip???
Please for the love of God, stop repeating characters & give us more new ones!!! (I'd put that in caps but it would break rules so...)
Petites/ Ponyvilles/ Blind Bags:- I don't see them as the main part of a collection & only as a supplement. Don't understand why there are ten times as many Blind Bags as G4 brushables. I do still have some of each though
Plush:- I love all brushable plush!!! I also love plush with troll hair (like on the heads of troll dolls), & soft newborns with brushable or troll hair.
General: I prefer brushables wherever possible
I hate too much pink everywhere, & restrict my G3 collection accordingly. More blue/yellow/purple/orange/green/white please
And I think that's my Pony venting/opinion session over!!!

Oh my heavens I loved browsing Pony websites when I got back into collecting!!! There was the Schuman Family one with downloadable episodes, Linnie's site which gave most of my flutters some lovely wings, Dava's Big Mamma Peachy, then Kimono's Townhouse (I even made a Custom G3 Boy called Butler as my Kimono's brother due to that site, & so many more. One old fave I know is lost now is Where The Rainbow Ends. That site was gorgeous!!! Then there were the tons of adoptables from Lullabye Nursery!!! I have whole folders of adoptables from different sites, & have even adapted some (like the Twisty Tail adaptation of one of yours Taffeta  Remember that email???)

Where did you get the mini books?
I don't remember the seller, but I think I found them on eBay through looking in the Dolls Houses & Miniatures section, I can usually find quite a lot of fun props for ponies and dolls that way. Etsy is good for that sort of thing too. I'm continually amazed by how many things are available in miniature!
