Title: Hello
Post by: Foam on July 14, 2019, 05:47:07 AM
Hello, I played with my little ponies as a child when they first came to stores. My first my little pony toys were grooming parlour, Apple Jack (Omenainen) and Sea Shell (Meriliinukka). I dont collect old mlps but became interested in Basic Fun's retro ponies. Most old ponies are in terrible condition so I dont really miss them. I did buy new Basic Fun Bowtie (Rusettiina) and Bubbles (Kupliina). My best friend from childhood had those. It seemed we always had like ponies but not the same and with playsets the same happened. She had Show Stable & I had Dream Castle. We made together with wax crayons and white bed sheet grass & river scenery for our playsets. The ponies (Peachy x 2 because we both had that set, Bubbles, Seashell, Applejack & Bowtie) used to go to sleep "upstairs" on those Heart shaped carrying handles on top of Grooming Parlours. I would have liked playing longer with ponies but my friend(s) grew up sooner and werent interested anymore. I think that left a feeling of missing out on ponies. I still had some playing to do in me. So just looking isn't it for me though I like pretty pictures. I want to touch and comb too and use them more like ordinary stuff without "collector" or "vintage" status. Since I have dogs I also dont want my pony purchases be such that if my dog chewes them I would get upset. So 40$ is the limit. I have a particularly chewy dog. I already lost some of my childhood Dream Castle accessories to him. They survived 30 years but they didnt survive him.

Welcome Foam   I remember making cardboard cut out ponies with my friend when I was little too.  Ponies were really expensive back then so we never got many.  We cut up one of our back cards and played with the cardboard ponies off that, lol.  Enjoy the forums!  :frolic:

Hello, Foam! Tervetuloa!

Ah, the Finnish names for ponies are so silly but I love them. And the Retro ponies are opening up so much possibilities for new and old collectors!

I hope you enjoy the forums :)
