vennie question (need answer asap for presentation)
« on: June 27, 2013, 09:54:22 AM »
I have 5 MIB Vennies and one MIP squeaky
the MIB ones have  year and Hasbro on one hoof. I see 1982, 1983, and 1984
does anyone have a Vennie with a year AFTER 1984?

my squeaky doesn't have anything on her feet - and her feet are flat
does anyone have a squeaky with a year and Hasbro? If so, what year/s? FF or CF?

thanks!!

Only CF have year stamped on them, they're either '82 or '83. Not sure if there's an '84.

FYI, I asked the seller for more info about the Squeekies he said they are authentic MLP and were produced the same time as the ones with hair. What happened was MLP was not very popular so th company ended production early, but they still have this set of ponies (the squeekies) in inventory and instead of completing and rehairing them they sold them as squeekies. The new wave of squeekies were bought from the ex-owner of the factory. Anyway that's the story I got about the squeekies.

squeaker is 82 Hasbro and concave foot (appleblossom combo)

for the boxed ponies =
CP is 82 Hasbro concave
apples /shy pose says 83 Hasbro
running pose are 84 so for me nothing 85

hope you get a check in for the other poses

I'm sure it will be a fantastic presentation Roogna!

and glad that ex-owner bought up the ponies after bisanti split up as otherwise my vote is they were destined to be dog chew toys... just my two cents

Yeah originally I thought they were dog chew toys too, but then I don't think dogs in a third world country and in the 80's/90's had that kind of luxury....  Just my thought. I think someone mentioned before that they were piƱata stuffers (for kids) which to me is much more believable.

now don't be dissin' the south American oil kingpin = 80's was a boomtown time - they are like a founder of OPEC if I remember back when we were practicing for the soviets to invade (such lovely 80's times) so I wouldn't count them out to pamper pets -living like sheiks in Caracas

too bad the ponies can't talk - but yah I agree it's better to believe that ponies were meant for toddlers and we all know that many have the teeth marks today to prove they were loved by such ;-) it's all good

Good catch MCM! Just got home and found these:

All Walking pose are CF and marked '84

All Tootsie pose are CF and marked '84

All Medley pose are  CF and marked '83

only the CP and Shy pose have both flat feet and CF variations and all CF CP are marked '82 while all Shy pose CF are marked '83. And there's nothing over '84.

MCM - I guess i was basing my assumptions on personal experience too, :) growing up in a developing nation in the 80's. I remember we had many animal "squeekie" toys. :) i think you still see them today and they're pretty common it seems. The toys are similar to the argentine ones below. Anyway that's why it's difficult for me to believe that the squeekie butts are dog toys :) but I completely see you side too!

The poses all have the same years as they do in every country. It's part of the mold, not the year they were released. The ponies sold in Venezula were all made in early poses, so they will either be stamped like every other collectors pose, shy pose, Tootsie pose, ect or they will have the years blanked out.
