We have a perfectly lovely community right here at the Arena, with lots of UK members. Why would you need to go to Facebook?

I think a lot of people do find the Arena a little bit intimidating. So many serious pony experts can be scary for a new collector.  FB gives a more familiar platform for them.  Also MLP arena can be difficult to navigate on certain interweb devices (or so I have been told).

Besides, my FB group is always advising our members to check on here for info we cannot help with  ^.^

Hi, no the rules on or FB group as that no sellers ask for gifted payments.  However the seller in question was a trusted and previously good trader so many people thought they'd do her a favor and send a gifted payment. However, now, she was very late on shipping (months in some cases) and people have been getting anxious. I asked to see if there was any way I could help these people.

Now the seller has come back and is shipping and clearing her backlog.

Daffodil,

Some news, she has responded to one of the admins posts on her personal FB page. If you can pm me with your fb profile, I can tag you in?

To any paypal experts out there or anyone who has managed to achieve this.

Is it at all possible for one to have a refund through paypal if you have paid through Friends and Family?

This is in relation to this thread : http://mlparena.com/index.php/topic,378822.0.html

I care alot about the members on my group and I do find it hard to swallow that those who have sent a gifted payment to this seller will get nothing back.

If you have no way of fixing it, are you going to be using the fabric or anything in the future?  If not then I would be asking for a refund.  No point in spending $15 on something you have no use for, and the seller should have mentioned it on the auction/sales post. Neglecting to do so is very dishonest.

When it comes to selling, Honesty is always the best policy.  If a pony is flawed, do your best to describe it honestly and ensure your pricing reflects the flaw.  If you are unable to ship on a certain day (48 hours after payment is what I generally go by) message the buyer and let them know shipping is gonna be delayed for a day or 2 for what ever reason - most will happily accept a delay due to childcare/work commitments for example, as long as its properly communicated. Even if its a big family emergency like a hospital dash, buyers will understand.  Be honest with your postal fees, if I have quoted over £1 higher than it actually costs, i refund the difference.  Its not a lot of money but its the thought that counts and will keep buyers coming back.

Good quality pictures are a must. take plenty of them.  When I sell, I take photo's from all angles and focusing on flaws.  BUT when I post the sale, i only put 1 good one on. It saves the buyer having to flick through a bazillion photo's. If they buyer wants more detail, they can ask and you'll have them ready to hand.

Give the ponies a small groom before the photo-shoot. A light hair brushing and wipe with a damp cloth should be all thats needed.  Any more in depth cleaning (talking de-heading and oxy cream etc here) should be left for the buyer. Not only are you not wasting time and effort on a pony you are not keeping but if something should go wrong, you may not be able to sell it for the price it was worth before you started the first place.

From what i have read in the news online, only 2 fatalities have been recorded so far. Both were traffic accidents during the evacuation.

Hello Daffodil,

I am one of the admins on the My Little pony and other 80's items fb group.  We have had several members now who have purchased from this seller and have been waiting weeks/months for their order.  Gemma was also an admin on the group but due to these issues, the group owner and the admin team decided to revoke her adminship as it seemed as if because she was admin, she was being permitted to go against group rules.

I still maintain that she is not an intentional scammer and she had (and I hope still has) every intention of shipping. However we (the admin team) are getting frustrated with the current situation.  Gemma has reported a number of issues including ill health, poor internet connection and other domestic issues, but has refused help in clearing her sales. I offered to pick up her ponies and sell them for her but she has declined. We have all sent her messages and emails asking her to get in touch with us, but to no avail.

At this point and with great regret I am now advising anyone still waiting on goods from Gemma to raise a paypal case to get your money back. I am also aware that because of her previous good standing and the fact that she was group admin, she was trusted and many of her buyers have paid Family and Friends on paypal and I can only offer my apologies as its highly unlikely you will get a refund.

I am so sorry to be the bearer of such bad news but sadly, this is the situation as it stands.

Reassuringly it seems very few fatalities from Fort Macmurray.  I am seeing a large number of FB groups there for finding pets though.  One photo i saw had a woman on horseback with 2 other horses tethered behind her galloping down the highway.  A very powerful image if you saw it.  I heard later that her and the horses made it through and were safe.  I cannot help feeling bad for the pets (and the owners) left behind.
