Pony Corral / Ask the Experts: G1 Applejack with Orange Apples???
« on: October 02, 2012, 01:17:04 AM »
You all are more experts than me when it comes to 'different' ponies.  I have a G1 Applejack from Hong Kong with orange apples and more teal coloured leaves and eye colour.  The colouration is even on both sides.  I've never seen her with anything but red apples though I've seen baby AJ has the orange apples.  I think this is this a factory defect, what do you think?  Some people have thought she's just faded but with such even colouring...  She's up for sale but I'm not sure what to ask for her or if anyone would be interested in her as something other than a regular old AJ.

Pony Corral / Re: Do you regret buying sometimes?
« on: October 01, 2012, 10:38:15 PM »
I've regretted some of my pony purchases but mine were all monetarily based:  I was spending most of my free money on ponies when I could have spent it on other things I could use, like clothes, or RRSP's etc.

As for your books, I love kid's books.  I have lots and I have no kids, I have nieces and nephews that don't get to read MY books when they visit, they have their own.  If you're regretting the books that you really like I think you may need to try to figure out why.  Do you have your own kids (I'm new here if that's common knowledge), if so maybe you're thinking they should have been for them.  Maybe something to do with how it might reflect on your reading tastes?  I don't think any of that should be cause for concern, myself.  I've just completed my Education degree and my favourite part of being the in the Grade 1 and 2 classrooms during student teaching was being able to read the children's books.  Perhaps it's a matter of the money spent or value of the item vs the money spent.  As far as books in the collection, they're flat/thin and don't take up much room so don't create a lot of clutter.  Once you can pinpoint where the discomfort is coming from you can make a more informed decision about whether you want to keep them or not.

I hope that helps in some way and if not, ignore it, I don't have a psych degree or anything  :), I just know that pinning down where the feeling comes from has helped me in the past.  I also recommend waiting a day or two before you take them back to see how you feel about them, do they still make you smile.

Aww, hope you feel better soon.  If it is strep I think the meds work pretty fast.  Anyway, how about Moondancer hair restoration?  I 'saved' some Moonies from the frizz monster!

I didn't think sellers could do that!  You sure hear about it if you're a buyer that doesn't pay.

Thanks everyone for the wonderful welcome you've all given me, I'm feeling the Pony Love!

I will probably keep Glory from my childhood, as for any others, I'm not sure yet.  I'm debating about Minty, as I wanted her since Grade 2.  We'll see.  This weekend I get the 'personal collection' from storage, these were my core favourites, so I'll see if I still want them.

Introductions / Hi There!
« on: September 18, 2012, 11:04:40 AM »
Hi everyone.  I'd like to introduce myself.

I live in Canada and have just finished my teaching degree and am looking for work.  That was a lot of years of school and it's hard to believe that I'm really done.

I was heavily into collecting ponies in the late 1990's and early 2000's.  It is now time for my ponies to find new, loving homes so I'm here to do just that.  I have been a part of the My Little Pony Trading Post in the past and have lurked here as well.  I love the pony community; the people are so nice and friendly.  I think that's one of the things that I loved most about Pony Collecting.

My collection consists mostly of G1 but there are some G2 and G3 in there as well but G1 are my favourites since I grew up in the 80's.  Glory and Firefly were my favourite ponies growing up and Firefly sure looks it!

I look forward to getting to know you and thanks for keeping such a fun and wonderful hobby going strong!
