Pretty bummed about this custom. :(

I've been working on this girl on and off for the past month.
If it isn't one thing going wrong its another.
I decided to try some rub on transfers that i purchased for the cutie mark. (BIG HASSLE)
And I don't really like her face, the eyes alone I did at least 6 different times.
She was supposed to be my pony alter ego but I might just strip her and start over.
Thoughts anyone?

I like the concept in general, but you're right, something is off...
I don't really know what's the matter here... maybe it's the violet glitter – I'd try to get rid of it totally and let the delicate flowers do the trick (though I'm not a fan of decals, but that's personal taste, so no offence). Or the hair is too light... you could dye the tips... Or the body is too dark, but you can't change that...
I don't think she's bad enough to start over... though. hmm. Other opinions?

I've already stripped her eyes,and i'm getting ready for another go. I think that and the shade of her body irk me the most.
I should also buy a different sealant. I used modge podge and it came out all clumpy after i watered it down.

I think the transfers looked awesome, but I think maybe the body color and hair color aren't working together?  And there is something off about the eyes. I can't quite put my finger on it....maybe the lack of eyeliner/lashes?  maybe....  And I agree with puuush, the purple glitter paint in the ears and on the wings might be a little much. but keep working on it. You'll get it.

I agree with the others. Ditch the purple glitter paint. Add some heavy lashes and shadow to really draw some attention to the eyes. Maybe try accenting the transfers with some white freckles to break up the color. If the head can pop back off I would also suggest adding a couple lighter stripes to the hair. Either a lighter purple or straight up white.

I had a similar problem with a custom I did a while ago. The symbol and the body color were not working so I accented the eyes and added some white and now she is lovely. If it doesn't work out then you can always start over Not the end of the world.

I bought a sheet of rub on decals at a local craft shop.
They were a real pain to get to stick.

You know what I like about this? Is it's a good reference to go back to for referencing your alter ego.

I'm constantly digging up references for my fursona to show others for commissions/trades, and you can show them this custom and be like "make the flowers look something like this".

I actually like the pink with the pale purple... that could be a personal preference thing though... maybe try painting the wings a layered and textured light green? With green eye shadow...

Another idea, is go to a craft store and purchase some tiny fake ivy and string it through the hair. I LOVE doing that.

there are some wonderful tips here. one i'd like to add is to not water down your modpodge. i've had nothing but trouble with that. also there is acrylic sealers available too. modpodge is a glue and gets sticky in some climates. another thought is not sealing a pony you plan on keeping, especially if kept in a sealed case. altho i have one made by AC years ago and she never sealed the pony and now she's one of my easiest to dust.

i think your new eyes are better but, and this is just my opinion and how i work, i think it's best to copy the generation of pony's eyes as closely as possible. g1's have top and bottom liner and lashes. it may be why the eyes just aren't sitting well with you. after a few more sets of eyes it'll be easy peasy to settle on your own style for colors, liners, and lashes. also maybe try a purple (dark purple) liner for the pupil and lashes and all. it softens it from the black, and can help tye the theme of colors together.

Oh I do like the new, lighter color and I think the addition of eyeliner and lashes in your most recent picture really helps! Keep working on it and keep letting us know how you are doing!

Keep her as is...

put her on a shelf and ignore her for a while...

after a couple weeks...look at her again. You'll figure out what you need to do then.
