I think it has to do with the material used. US Confetti is notorious for turning yellow and cancer, while I see a lot of Wedding Bells Confetti in pretty good shape. It took me forever to find the US pose in good enough condition and she was fairly expensive compared to my other more mint condition ponies. Gusty ponies seems to fare pretty well also.

The retro releases of the strawberry shortcake stuff are soooo nice. Wish we could have that for the g1 ponies! I'd be totally fine with retro re-releases (Bridge Direct is making some amazing Strawberry Shortcake ones) merchandise, TV series, what-have-you. Really. Anything they want to release, I'm willing to at least give them a chance. 
I know it won't live up to my childhood, 80's memories. I've made peace with that. But I'd love to have some pony stuff that I'm excited to buy in stores again. It's been such a long time and I'm just not a g4 collector.
But that's just me.

I will commission you! I love your take on Minty. Can you do Gusty? I can pay via PayPal. About commissions: It's more to test the waters, and is just for a limited time to see if people are interested. I'm not really expecting too many (so many things to draw!) but hoping it will improve the lag in pony art. Anyway, I'll draw you any Hasbro pony for a humble $5, that does include colour. You will receive a roughly 900x900 pixel file (larger, than what I typically upload) without a watermark. OCs are not included, but if you'd want to see your pony/character in my style, maybe we can work something out.
Update: Real pony update. I also tossed a couple older pieces into the pony spoiler.  Have another one sketched and needs to be coloured so hopefully one more pony to add soon too.

Congrats. Gusty is especially lovely. I have soft heart for her, she's my childhood pony. I have two and notice she has the loveliest hair and expressions next to my other ponies.
