That custom looks amazing! Such a good idea to use Chap Mei wings, they look so nice!
This reminded me that I used to attach my Chap Mei wings to ponies with a hair tie once the saddle broke.

In my G2 Starcatcher Custom I implanted wings I removed from a Chap Mei saddle & used them for her wings. As I covered them in blue glitter anyway, they worked

How's everyone going? Any new purchases? Discoveries? Projects?

I have another project under way alongside my G2 animation and I wanna gauge potential interest.

Would you be interested in G2 enamel pins? I have a few designs I'm working on (I have a total of 7 designs planned, I've already done 2 and I'm working on the 3rd) plus more ideas for potential future designs.

Love the idea of Dolly Mix wings on G2s.  I wouldn't have thought of them, but they do fit the aesthetic very well.

Whoa, I didn't know they were making molds outside g1 ._. Lucky they decided to make a g2 one though, i still can't believe how little people remember it >_>

I don't think the HQG1C people are the ones proposing the G2 blanks.  At least, I haven't seen anything about it on their Facebook.  I think it's someone else who was inspired by them.

I do agree, I got the general vibe that it's not by the HQG1 people, but someone who has worked with them in the past.

Hi all!

The head of the project has found a good factory for the blanks to be mass produced (so that the price is more reasonable)a nd is thinking of using kickstarter or gofundme to gather funds.

What're you guys opinions on this?

IIRC Clipper and/or someone else involved with HQG1C said they'd *like* to do G2s but were currently more focused on trying to sell their backstock of HQG1Cs.

I don't think I could donate to a Kickstarter/Gofundme but I'd be excited to see one

Yeah, from what I've seen on their Facebook, HQG1C's next two molds will be Baby Moondancer and newborn Dibbles molds.

I think crowdfunding is a great idea because a lot of people will say "Oh, I'd love to see someone make [blank]!" and then not actually buy the thing.  Not out of malice, but because, yeah, that DO like the thing but not enough to buy it.  Which can really screw over small creators.  I was talking to an enamel pin seller at a Transformers 'con and she says Kickstarters are how she gauges which pins to make next.

And enamel pins are pretty affordable to produce afaik.  A factory pony mold costs $10,000 to create.  And then on top of that you have to pay for the production run.

^ This is a good way of putting it! Like, I'll admit I'm more interested in new G2 characters rather than blank molds - I'm not a customizer. So it's hard for me to say if I could commit to backing a crowdfunder or not, y'know? But I definitely think it's a good idea.
