I'm with those who think "new cast" means "new characters".  I love G4 and all it's ponies (they're my gateway generation after all) but I wanna hear about other new ponies.  Maybe a mixed group of critters?  More Griffins, Hippogriffs, Changelings and Dragons, etc? I feel that was sort of field tested in the latter years.  Maybe shorten it to "MLP" and focus on a wider range of toys/characters?

Okay, I'm just dreaming here. but I have slightly more hope for G5 now than I did.

I've found it here on Amazon.ca:

https://www.amazon.ca/Shopkins-Real-Littles-Collectors-Case/dp/B0829PV4B9/ref=asc_df_B0829PV4B9/?tag=googleshopc0c-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=342872085258&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=3448628963048335646&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9000685&hvtargid=pla-896668712070&psc=1

They want about 10 bucks Canadian for it -- however I could only get it if I buy over 25 bucks of merch.  So...I could probably find 25 bucks of stuff I want/need from Amazon but I'd have to ship it to you afterwards.

What kinda price range were you looking at?

If you wanna order it from this link, go for it!  If you can't I could do something but shipping to the USA is pricy.

Is this what you're looking for?

if this isn't it, please post a picture.  I'm in Canada and while I don't collect Shopkins I'll keep an eye out for it.

Wanted! / Seeking Specific 4.5 Blindbag figures
« on: August 06, 2020, 11:04:18 AM »
Hi there!
I'm seeking 4 of the new "4.5" gen blindbag figures.  I've posted a picture below -- the ones I'm looking for are outlined in purple.  I'm afraid I'm not interested in the others, just the "unicorn pet" ones.

https://imgur.com/a/6mE3ugA

I don't care if they're the exact same colours as in the picture as long as they're the same shapes.

I'm willing to buy them outright, or trade some g4 blindbags for them if you'd rather.  Or I'd draw something for you in exchange (artwork samples can be provided upon request).  Whatever you prefer.   Lemme know what you'd like for them and we can make a deal :)

Thank you for reading.

I felt like drawing some G1 ponies.  I picked these because I liked the colours and wanted a pegasus, a unicorn and an earth pony because I'm completest like that.

This is a composite of three separate images, so if anyone feels like just one of 'em, that's an option too.

I'll probably make some prints of these at some point if anyone's interested.

Make more customs from my increasingly terrifying blind bag bait hoard herd (don't worry, most of 'em are factory seconds).
Make more tiny things for those tiny customs.
Take photos and/or videos of those tiny things and tiny ponies.
Actually post those pics online.

I have a ton of g4 pony blind bags.

Cool beans!  I'll drop you a message and maybe we can work something out, if you're willing to part with some of 'em.

Eruna, Pinkiewise is absolutely horrific and I LOVE IT!  Excellent use of the figure here.

It might be fun to go experimental with her.  I think Eruna is onto something  - that bulbous head just begs for something Hallowe'en or horror-related.  Might be fun to make her into Frankenstein's Pony or something like that.  If you could make and glue "stitches" around her neck joint and fake some leg attachments, you could make her look like a number of other ponies sewn together.

Wanted! / seeking foal G4 blindbag pony figures

Hey there!

Once again I'm on a quest to find more G4 blindbag sized ponies to feed my addiction assist me in my hobby plans.

Specifically, I'm looking for foal figures, ideally ones like this: https://s2-ssl.dmcdn.net/mnsh1/x1080-3s3.jpg
"Peppermint Twist" ones are good, as are "Snips" or "Snails" figures too.  I can always use those.

What I'm not in the market for are the ones sold as "cake toppers" or that came with the activity book, so not these: https://thumbs.worthpoint.com/zoom/images1/1/0613/27/mlp-apple-bloom-scootaloo-sweetie_1_b2ff9e1c04cae99a469bec92dc2505a8.jpg
I also don't need the "Diamond Tiara" or "Silver Spoon" figures.

Loose ones or damaged paint is perfectly fine.  You can strip the card/packaging off them if it makes mailing cheaper and easier.  Multiple copies of the same figure are welcomed!  Of course I will pay for postage too.

If you have any you're willing to sell, drop me a note with what you want for them and I'll get back to you asap.  I can't promise to buy every pony offered, but I am more than willing to entertain any reasonable price.

Thanks for reading this!

Whoops!: forgot to mention, I'm in Canada, just outside of Ottawa, in case you're thinking about shipping prices.

I've never used any aerosol paint on vinyl before so I did some digging.

The FAQ for this paint on the Testors site says it's for use on "wood, metal, paper mache, terra cotta, ceramic bisque, glass and most porous surfaces".  The ad page includes "and more" but doesn't say what exactly this "more' entails.  I checked the safety pdf and it won't tell me what exactly this is made from or what it interacts with.

I did some digging around.  MUNNY (that's how they spell it, sorry for the all caps) suggests that any aerosol used on vinyl can result in a a sticky surface even when dry.  They suggest using a coat of "Krylon sandable primer" first.  Having said that, the Testor's site also suggested a primer followed by a black base coat (https://www.testors.com/pages/help-and-support/faqs/color-shift-faqs).

Like you said, I'd try this on a fakie first to see how well it holds up - just in case this all goes sideways.  Nobody wants a melted pony.  From what I can gather though as long as you do this in a well ventilated area and use a primer/base coat it should be do-able.  If it works this should make for one pretty pony!

This is probably the most awesome pony room I've ever seen!

It's the rainbow light thing that really takes this over the top.

I what... how...how does this happen? Who made them?

There's a law in China that says factory workers can take things/materials out of factory garbage bins for free and resell/reuse them.  If you look carefully at the blindbags you can see that they're not all cast in one piece.  Weirdly the heads and manes are separate pieces stuck together later.  What I'm guessing happened here is that someone scored a bunch of badly cast pony pieces, picked out the best bits, stuck 'em together randomly and called it good.   Or some bootlegger made heads and bodies out of whatever scrap plastics they had and just sorted 'em out later.

Or the heads and bodies are connected by machine and something got way out of order.... way out.

Either way they're hilarious!

And for my purposes fine for bait ponies.

Customs / Re: The Dirtiest Deflock - Before and After

She was seriously the dirtiest pony I've ever seen. Her owner loved her so much as child and played outside with her ALOT!

I know the flocking made them soft to the touch, but I gotta wonder what went through the minds at the designer's level.  Flocking attracts lint, cat hair, dog hair, dust, dirt, etc and is next to impossible to get clean.  It'd never feel like a real stuffed animal so apart from the gimmick factor, I guess they never considered these ponies would be kept for more than one generation of owners.  In my mind flocking is the last thing you'd want to put on a toy that you expect kids to play with. Unless the designers just thought this was to be a collectible only...was that a thing then?  I know obviously people bought them, but the whole adult collector market couldn't have been that big at that moment ... or was it and I'm up a tree again?

I'm glad you got her clean again.  She's like a new pony!

Were the fuzzies on the pony originally supposed to be ... white?  *shudder*

In any case, she looks like a new pony now.  Amazing what a little love (and lots of elbow grease) can do.  Nicely done!

I love that little whispy bit that sticks out on the one side.  So cute!
