Pony Corral / Re: Cleaning a so soft pony ???
« on: August 12, 2019, 09:22:13 AM »
Hi and welcome.

I may not really be able to tell you what to do, I can tell you what to NOT do. I have recently been doing (intensional) deflocking on two ponies. To me it has been easy, and successful, which means in your case BE CAREFUL.

Do NOT use nail remover with or without acetone. It works great to remove hard spots you do not get ride of with regular washing, but it also removes the glue holding the flock on your ponies body.

If you wash the pony in hot water and scrub to hard the flock will go (but leave the glue).

I apologise again if I do not give you a real answer you want.

Summery: Do the cleaning carefully. Maybe just warm water and use your hands to rub the soap over the body.

There is not one that is "easier" beyond personal preference.

Both eBay and PayPal offer a buyer guarantee which includes that if you pay for goods, then you have protection. That includes that you will receive the item you paid for or they will back you up with a refund.

If you use PayPal with eBay, you are literally covered by both. (Which is why my first answer was assuming you were wanting to know which was easier between the two).

Wish sounds like a crapshoot honestly and I've read tons of things where listings are misrepresented. Like what looks to be a 5 foot teddy bear is 4 inches.

Correct. You describe it so much better then me banditpony.

I have used Ebay for years. I have learn from mistakes of course, but I feel safe with it now. Ebay have this insurances I mentioned. Wish.com does not, what I can find, wish is simply a place for sellers and buyers to meet, but wish does not involve itself in disputes but Ebay does. You must  only remember to start a case on Ebay within 60 days. Follow instructions I left earlier. (I have only used Wish once, and it worked out without problems, but I did not feel secured, and their search-function was really bad, so I'm not doing it again.)

Don't know if the link will work but try:
https://res.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ResolutionCenter
if not search for "Resolution Center" or "Help and contact" and take a look around.

Good luck.

In your list of orders/purchases, to the right of the object in question you have an alternative "More actions". Click on it and a list of alternatives will appear, among them are "I didn't receive it" but also "Contact seller". Click on the one you prefere and follow the instruction. It is going to work out, just remember to not close the case before you have the item or refound. You can only open a case once on every item.

PS: I use to give the package 1-2 extra weeks to arrive out of principle and it proves you have really giving it a fair chans.  It was some time ago I bought from China, but if I recall correctly it sometimes doesn't show it was shipped and arrived much later, when I had practically forgoten about it. I do not know the expectancy of how long a shipment comes from China to your country, but I live in Sweden and it can take over a mouth.

I guess you mean green bodies not main and tail. Sadly I have not figured out how to ad pictures in my post jet, but I know the names of some (G1) green ponies. I have noticed green is quit rare.

I have list:
Fizzy, Morning Glory, Medly

I don't have but know exist:
Peach Blossom, Beachcomber, Sea Shimmer, Daisy Sweet, Tootsie, Mimic, Ice Crystal, Jabber and Jebber, Minty, Salty, Baby Frosting, Buzzer, Cool Breeze, Skippity Doo, and Star Hopper

Can you put her head in a plastic baggie and dunk her in warm water?  I'm thinking warm her face while keeping it dry.  I have not tried to pop BBEs back in but I recall it was not easy getting them out.  I replaced one set with google eyes and one with frog eyes.  Both a touch smaller...

Dunking the head in water or using a blow dryer, both makes the plastic more flexible, but to me it just means it caves in when I try to push the eye in, the hole doesn't get bigger.

I thought I wanted to make my BBE ponies into NBBE, but now I changed my mind. My Baby Heart Throb is now missing her eyes and I do not know how to put them back. I tried following KottonKandys instruction in "Restoring a BBE ~A Project For The Insane" but using a blow dryer to warm up her face does not work for me. The only result I get out of that is getting the plastic back to start crackle.

Is there anyone who know or has any idea what I can do? :work: I do not want to give up on the little darling.

The blond one. She looks more evil and confident.

The purple-haired one looks regale but... unconcerned? Board? Which does not match my impression of that character. Ever the emotional cat-lady with a quick temper.

Do you like to hunt for yours at thrift stores, yard sales, etc. or do you prefer to buy them online/from other collectors? I very much look forward to seeing your collection and your sales! I hope you enjoy your time here ^u^

Before got the idea to look for ponies on the net, thrift stores and yard sales was my only options. Sadly Sweden is a small country and I am under the impression My little pony never was very popular here.  So the pace of finding ponies was maybe one a year. My collection never really start to grow until internet opened up as a alternative market, maybe like four years ago. I use Ebay and a Swedish site called Tradera today.

Introductions / A new menber here
« on: July 16, 2019, 03:36:52 AM »
My focus is on the G1 generation and I have loved My Little Pony all my life. Sadly I was born too late to ever get any first hand from a store, everyone I own are second-handed. That is of course fin to me, but that may also be the reason I have this huge interest in restoration of them, it goes hand in hand.

I have not considered using the net for this interest until quite recently. In that way I am a late bloomer

I do not know why I am a collector, I just get so happy when I find one, I must buy it. And I watched the movie (rented the 1986 version) when I was very little and after that I was searching for it my entire childhood . The movie came out new edition 2004. Now I finally have the movie and television series and I have come to realize it is the ponies from the movie and television series I want most to add to my collection.

I have 86 ponies I plan to keep, I have a list of at least 7 I am missing and still searching for, and 53 doublets and ponies I plan to sell in the near future, but first I need to fix them up to look their best. And that is where you come in... :) I hope this is going to be a pleasant experience for everyone.
