Pony Corral / Lansing Michigan Pony Meet September 22
« on: August 11, 2018, 04:06:28 PM »
Hello!  This year's Michigan Pony meet will be held on Saturday September 22nd from 9:00-5:00.  Please click the link below to be taken to the  Facebook event invite.  We're going to have tons of fun and hope to see you all there!

Here is everything I've figured out so far:

The meet will be held on Saturday September 22 from 9:00-5:00 in Bath Mi.  Go to the FB invite or message me for the address.

Admission to the meet is $5.00 per person.

Table rental is $5.00 per table with a limit of 2 tables per person. Tables and chairs will be provided.

Lunch will be catered. I'm still working the details out but most likely it will be a taco and nacho bar.

There will be lots of time for trading and selling (that's my favorite!)

I am not planning on any custom or art contests at this time. We will probably have a game or two but they will be very low key. This meet will be mostly about socializing and hanging out.

More details to come as I figure them out!

Pony Corral / Re: Who is your grail pony?
« on: May 07, 2018, 07:53:42 PM »
Well my grail for a long time was MOC Mimic.  Then last month my amazing husband bought her for me so that itch was scratched!  After having her as my grail for so long there is not another that I want as badly but the top of my list now is Nightlight.  I love her colors and the time has come to make her mine!

Applejack hands down!  I wanted her so badly as a little girl but didn't get her.  Later on a childhood friend gave me her ponies and Applejack was included.  I also got introduced to TAF Buttons, Mimic and slew of others through that friend but AJ has always been my favorite!

Hi I just sold my moc nightlight and moc German raindrop for together for 700. Cut a deal because she got both. I would think 400 for nightlight with prices going down but you never know.

And I LOVE them both!  Thank you again!

I have her and her baby.  Plus I was lucky enough to snag her MOC a few years back.  She is such a pretty girl!

Me!  MLP was the only thing I played with my entire childhood.  I've been around since the beginning of the arena though I've had a few names over the years.  I can't imagine not having ponies in my life.  I love reading this thread!

Wanted! / WTB SS Angel and Taffy
« on: May 13, 2017, 07:28:10 PM »
I am looking for a mint condition Taffy and Angel.  Flocking in tact (at least 99% of it) and no yellowing.  Nice hair a must, original curl would be amazing.  I will pay VERY well for these girls.  Mint ones have been evading me for years!  Please send me a PM if you can help me and I'll make it worth your while  .

Pony Corral / Re: Solution for displaying a large MOC collection?
« on: May 13, 2017, 07:12:46 PM »
I will definitely take pics when they are displayed and I COMPLETELY agree with you about SS ponies.  They are so pristine on their cards.  The 2nd set is my favorite.  I had Bangles and Taffy MOC for years and then came across MOC Crumpet and Angel at one of the pony fairs.  I found Hippity Hop the next year and then a random post here just before Thanksgiving two years ago scored me Twilight.  I still have a hard time believing I was able to complete that set.

I go back and forth on what is complete for me with collecting as well.  Technically I consider my US collection complete but there are always things I'm looking for, either new additions or upgrades.  Not surprisingly Sugarcake was the last and the hardest for me to track down too.  She is a tricky one!

I love all of the ideas guys!  Maycrestmom, I would LOVE to do the wallpaper thing and I definitely have the MOCs to do it (well over 300) but I'm so worried about the gravity aspect!!!  I LOVE seeing all of those MOCs hanging up though.  If there were no concerns I would display them like that in a heart beat.

The other issue is that I have complete sets of MOCs.  Some of my completed sets are the 1st set of twinkle eye ponies, the first and second set of do soft ponies, taf, sundae best etc.  I would love to find a way to display them all together.  Sadly I think space will be the ultimate decider and there just isn't THAT much of it.  Oh well, I suspect this "problem" will be part of the fun as well too.  Maybe I'll rotate who's on display so everyone gets  chance.

I actually think there are quite a few of us with completed US collections.....those of us who have been around for awhile anyway.  1999 for me!  Part of it too is what you consider complete.  I don't need every variant of every pony ever made.  One is enough for me.  Now I'm focusing on mint upgrades of the ponies in my collection so that has been fun.  Complete for me includes petites, plushes, mommy charms and dream beauties.  Some were hard to track down but it was so much fun!  I can't wit to finally have it all out on display!

Pony Corral / Solution for displaying a large MOC collection?
« on: May 08, 2017, 03:50:28 PM »
I'm preparing to move back into my house in the next few weeks.  It burnt down in the spring of last year and we've been rebuilding since.  Thankfully the majority of my pony collection escaped the flames and the benefit of building a new house is that we got to design it and include a pony room for me!  I have a very large collection.  A complete loose G1 US and UK collection and a large amount of MOCs which are my true passion.  My collection has been in totes for the last 6 years and it's amazing how much it's grown in that time!  I really want to display the majority of my MOCs but I'm stumped, both from a space standpoint and a safety standpoint.  In my last pony room I had a large peg board with metal rods on it.  I stacked the MOCs on the rods so they were standing upright.  It was so awesome to flip through them like they were in store aisles again!  I'm concerned about that long term though.  I don't want gravity to eventually separate the pony from the card.

Those of you with large MOC collections on display what is your solution?  Pics would be awesome if you have them!

Thanks!
~Cricket
