Walmart exclusive Crystal Empire castle with Shining Armor Includes Pic

I was looking at the MLP stuff today and found the Crystal Empire Castle playset with Shining Armor and extra accessories.

wut.wut wut.wut.... so you can buy the regular Cadence-as-Single-Mom playset, or you can go to Walmart and pay EXTRA so that Daddy Shining Armor is included? 

Wow.  Just, I don't even know man.  That says something really, really subtle about society for a toy to be marketed like that.  "Having the Dad is a bonus special extra!"  *facepalm*

At least in the Family Celebrations sets, they did sell the family actually together!

Wait, what? I don't remember a shining armor bonus pack existing. I don't think the one at the walmart I checked had him, it was just the normal castle.

both my walmarts had the castle but I don't think either had Dad.

Well...I'm guessing Hasbro heard and listened to the complaining. Look on the bright side, you dont have to track him down if you want the family set.

If I remember correctly ASDA is the UK version of Walmart so maybe this is connected.

Does Shining still have the troll hair, I can't see it very well from that angle.  But I can see why they wouldn't have added him originally.  They usually only have one pony included with a playset, and adding a second would have added a few dollars to the price.

Yeah, he still has the troll hair, I can tell.... I've had two Shining Armors, and from an angle he looks bald because the troll hair is so matted into him. It's the exact same SA as from the original Wedding Castle set. Even has the unpainted hooves like the original. Is that throne next to him an EXTRA throne, or is it just the one that comes with the castle? It looks exactly like the one that came with the castle for Cadence, so....

I forgot to mention Walmart also had some of the regular Crystal Empire Castle sets without Shining Armor included next to this one.

I wonder why not just include him in the first place?  I'd hate to have to go to Walmart to track him down.  But at least he showed up. 

Then again, I'm still trying to figure out why they aren't marketing G4 boys without having to buy giant sets.  Either you have to buy a castle (to get Shining Armor) or a gift set (to get FS Shining Armor and FS Soarin')  Have all the G4 boys, so far, been store exclusives, too?

Everything about this post made me laugh! On one hand, I felt like finally they're including him (though it's sad that he's a bonus in some) but on the other, yeah pretty much what lbs said.

According to the picture of the opened set on Walmart's website it's an extra, so you get 2 thrones.
