Good to see that Fashionistas are still going to be with us, albeit with a new name...some collectors were rather concerned when the first photos surfacing for next year were dolls with cute looks and*dreadful* posability. I am puzzled by the little ruffly skirt and top in the My Fab Fashions Barbie picture- are they brand new, or a re-release? Because I just bought that top and skirt from a Chinese eBay seller.... Barbie's going to have cute clothes again, yay! (Pleeease don't let them be the cheap crappy half-outfits of the last couple years!) Looks like I'm going to be mugging a lot of dolls for their clothes and heads next year, LOL. visitors can't see pics , please register or loginhttp://www.flickr.com/photos/bratzbagci/10714190456/lightbox/ oh, how cute!!

A Hot Toys head? If the character you're creating is supposed to be a caricature of the original, it should work. 21 cms are pretty small, though- if you're aiming for a serious/proportional character it may look a little wonky. Even if the head is small enough to work (which head are you using? I'm curious, now:) ) s/he will probably be quite swan-necked.

Quick question for those of you who frequent Disney stores- are the VIP dolls completely sold out at retail?

I'd love to see a friend of Barbie with that body style! The more body types in my collection, the better. (Otherwise, I think the 'change Barbie' crusaders need to pay more attention to the *real* women kids see in pop culture.)

You're welcome, justkitter! I was hoping, sigh. Wonder if his legs pop off like Skipper's?
And yeah, 1990's Kens...yikes. There were a few exceptions- Rockers Ken was sharp, the European release 'Bobby' from the BiBops (Barbie and the Sensations in the States) was really cute and Totally Hair Ken really wasn't as goofy looking as the prototype.

Does Ken have jointed knees this time? Last year they dropped the knee joints for the Fashionista boys.

Post Merge: June 21, 2013, 12:47:56 PMWere those released in stores? Granted been a while since I have been in a Toys R us, but I know I have never seen them at places like Target or Wal-Mart.
That is my question as well. I looked in Target and Wal-Mart today but didn't see any. I am just wondering if these have even been shipped out to stores yet or if they are still yet to be released.
They seem to have been just released. Someone on flickr has the whole collection already. So they should have a wider distribution in the US soon. As for me I will be waiting for another month or two before they reach here. Lucky Barbie doesn't take so long like MH to reach here.

Summer and Raquelle http://www.flickr.com/photos/71297579@N06/8975696241/
Thanks for posting that link! First impressions: ...Summer is gorgeous, and Midge every bit as adorable as the prototypes. <3 ...what the heck? Nikki has black wings on her eyelids. Seriously, those would scale out to about 3" long. ...v.1 Raquelle is going to be an immediate body donor, unless that face looks a lot less goofy in person. Teresa, maybe not-she's growing on me. ...oh goodness, are those outfits real? They don't look like they're half-and-half! Looking forward to these so much!

It could be that they are going to replace the fasionista line. So they can't be too expensive or no one will buy them for their kids. That is just what I think
Good point. I've really enjoyed the Fashionista line, so I hope that's not the case, but since they're keeping the same (or at least similar--I didn't check too closely) articulation I'll be okay with it. They've also had the Fashionista dolls on sale...
from what I have heard the chest joint is back. Like the old fashionistas. Which I think is really cool!!
Oh, I hadn't heard that! Yay, I miss the chest joint. Now if the boys can just get their knee joints back.... I would be disappointed to lose the Fashionistas, but if we have the two side by side, perhaps as a 'basic' line and an 'upgrade' , that would be nice.
