eBay Took Money from my Bank Account

So, I just looked at my email account and saw a message from Paypal saying that eBay authorized the removal of almost 17 dollars from my bank account. WHAT?! I had 25 dollars in my account to last me another week. That was gas for my car for my son's doctors appointments coming up. Now I can't afford them.

It's listed as SELLER'S FEES. Which is ridiculous because everything I listed on eBay, I was told there were no sellers fees, no fees at all. Because believe me, I don't have the money to pay them. I would not have listed on eBay if there had been.  I shoved off an email to eBay customer service saying that I'm not using them again, I will be refunded. Whenever it hits 9am here (5am for them), I'm going to call them up, give them a piece of my mind and get my money back.

At least I think it was eBays customer service. I can't find a chat line, email address, nothing. Even though they say they have them.

I'm just so upset that without my authorization, they took money from me. And it was completely out of the blue.

There are no Listing fees any longer, for the most part. There are still final value fees. If an item sells, you pay ebay a percentage of the final value. I have no idea who told you that you paid no fees, but it sounds like there was either a huge miscommunication, or they didn't know what they were talking about.

Unfortunately, there ARE fees for using ebay. Otherwise, how would they make any money? eBay can't afford to make no money.

Unfortunately, I am not sure where you read there were no seller fees. The listing fees may have been free but you are also charged a final value on everything you sell.

So I am assuming your fees were due and since there was not money in your Paypal to take, they deducted it from your bank account. I don't mean to sound mean but I highly doubt they are going to give you your money back. Because when you signed up for Paypal and added your bank account you basically gave them the authorization to take money. That is why they ask for a backup when you create your account 

But I suppose it wouldn't hurt to call, as they can probably explain it better. Their number is:  866-961-9253

Just infuriates me that I didn't get a prior notification that they were just going to deduct money. If I had, I would have taken my paypal off of my ebay account and then paid when I had the money.

Yes they can. They mention prior to selling, you use ebay so long as you pay final value fees+paypal final value fees. Sorry you didn't realise that, but that's how ebay works. It's not fair I know, I thought I had paid my £9 in FVFs, but it then came out a few days ago, and I had to cancel a trade because of it x

If you go into your My Ebay you can look at your seller account and see the fees you have due for what you sold.  Ebay also does send emails when they pull money and yes they have the right to pull the funds from your account.  That is something you set up before you can even sell.  When you sell something its really good to check your seller account and keep up with what you owe ebay.  I am really sorry you didn't know, but there is nothing wrong with what they did.

Yup. T_T Since I had nothing left to sell on eBay, I hadn't gone back to it. Had a message waiting for me in my eBay inbox, invoice for seller's fees.  Way to email it to me, eBay. -.-

  That's pretty funny!  I totally sympathize with you though. But that is why it's always super important to read between the fine lines with ebay. If something they are promoting looks good there is usually a catch, always.

I knew about the fees, and I still had a good chunk taken out of my bank account that only had $2 to last the week. Had to transfer from savings to get it out of the red. I didn't get the email and the day/time of the month slipped my mind haha.

Sometimes those emails go into spam folders and if you do what I do...and have all spam deleted. Well, there ya go...no email.

We kinda lucked out, I guess. Did a survey for my son's mental health insurance company, got 2 gift cards that amounted to 20$ for Wal Mart. That'll be some gas in my love monkey's tank, so he won't lose his job. (That he just got like last week. And then Unemployment decided to cut him off.)

He's also thinking of now pawning his PS3 so we have some money for groceries. Screw the bills, amiryte?!
