I'm sick of reboots: I watched a favorite childhood movie last night (Masters of the Universe), then read up on it and a reboot is in the works. Then I read up on another childhood favorite (Red Sonja) to find it is also being rebooted. I'm over this trend

MotU fans have screamed for a reboot of the live-action movie for decades because the 80s one wasn't like the cartoon. You are the first person I see who doesn't want it

I had a curry pot for lunch at my volunteering job and normally I love a good curry, but this one was mingin'! It was very bland and disappointing. In future, I'll have to make my own and bring it with me!

The director just announced an opening date of September 8th and the part timers are already complaining about the shifts, which are the exact same length as they are now.  There's just an hour between the morning shift and the afternoon shift where we're supposedly going to be closed in order to clean, which is during the full timers' lunch hour so we will either have to start going to lunch at 2 or 12 since clearly the part timers aren't going to want any extra time because they "don't like" cleaning.

I still haven't moved into my apartment

Now I'm thinking of staying through the 25th. My mom's birthday is the 24th and the next day I have a 10am physical appointment with my PCP. I figure it will be easier to just stay instead of visiting one day, going home and being picked up the next morning. I could stay the night but I wouldn't want to leave my cat alone.

So I've paid two months rent and utilities for an empty place. My dad thinks I'm scared to move but that's not it at all. My health dictates what I can do each day and packing is taking so long. I am down to the bare essentials now and could call the movers tomorrow but will probably end up staying another week.

Just spent the week babysitting the neighbours dog, went to bed super late last night because I was at a friends house. I feel tired and all I want is to have a quiet afternoon with my projects then go to bed. Simple wish, right? Wrong! As soon as I get in my sister is hounding me about university applications and “how come you haven’t done it yet! It’s almost September Mewtwofan1!” Like I just want to stop and finish this project! Nothing more! I am too tired to deal with applications, and too tired to fight with my family on the subject.

Sister went back to her place yesterday. We all walked into town to see her off at the station. The local station mandates masks on the platform unless you are exempt, so we all wore one onto the platform (even though both Mum and I are technically exempt).

A group of youths hanging out on the platform, not wearing masks, and apparently not interested in getting a train, reallllly annoyed me. I am the first to stand up for the rights of the exempt, but these were basically commenting how pointless it was. NOT exempt. Just stupid.

The station in our local town is unstaffed on an afternoon, so there's nobody to enforce the rules.

...Idiots.

I am reminded how much I hate living in this area and why >.> I really miss London now.

It's also weird with sister gone back now...because none of us know how long it will be before she can come again, or what the situation will be like going forward.

On the positive...the walk into town was nice, aside the bit where a greenfly flew in my eye...

There's no way to and from town that cuts out the steep hills. My knee hurts when I walk anyway, but it's worse when I have to go up and down a load of inclines. :/

I hope it's not rude to start complaing right upon my return, especially about such trivial things. But I have two things!

First, I hate, hate, HATE valerian! I have no words for how much I loathe that disgusting smell. I bought some tea in a super cute box (with a fricken sleepy barn owl, I mean, come on! ) that was supposed to bring me some peace of mind at night. It contains lavender, chamomile and valerian. I absolutely love the smell of the first two, so I was pretty much expecting that those would mask the vile smell of the valerian.

I WAS WRONG.

I took the foil off the box, and the stench nearly knocked me out. No matter where I put it (I even banned it from my house and stored in on the balcony for a couple of days) or what I do with it, it keeps stinking up my entire house!   I even threw the packaging out and put the bags away (because the bags themselves smell okay-ish, the box is worse), but the stench is still everywhere. I smells like an exceptionally gross pile of old and vile laundry.

Second complaint: I ordered an awesome Red Hot Chili Peppers watch, but my order was cancelled because they don't carry that model anymore. I was looking forward to it so much...

I don't want to go to the office today.  I hate leaving my house and dealing with potentially infected idiots.

Woke up to no power this morning.  No idea why.  Might be the people building across the street knocked it out.  I just hope it's back on by the time I get off work tonight.
