I spent so much time on that site when I revisited MLP! I think she even had the OG logo font available for download. I've since only been able to find a slightly similar italicized version of it.

I need to check these old songs out on YouTube! I feel like I remember downloading some of the songs to an old laptop, really wish I still had them as mp3 files.

She must have spent so much time on it, thank goodness for the wayback machine archiving things. Remember web rings? Man that was a bit of nostalgia!

I have been wanting to grab the blue baby sea pony with the yellow duck floatie - but not a grail version or a rare version, I just want to have her :) would love to have her comb/ribbon, though. Will you be selling any of the stickers or merch? I'd be interested to know about prices on any of that stuff!

Wanted! / Bait Wanted: She-ra Action Figures (80's)
« on: July 28, 2020, 06:25:13 PM »
Okay, the pandemic is getting to me and I think it's time to get back into toy customizing! I'm searching for bait condition She-ra figures, preferably more than one from the same person. Must be willing to ship to Canada, because that's where I am :)

Thank you <3

Pony Corral / G1 Movie - Ever Released in Widescreen on DVD?
« on: July 28, 2020, 06:20:11 PM »
I was REALLY sick this weekend due to some meds I'm on at the moment, and in my misery I resorted to a childhood favourite - the G1 MLP movie. It was the first movie I ever remember seeing in theatres, although apparently my parents took me to see Snow White first.

The DVD copy I have is fullscreen format, but since it was a theatrical movie release it must have been made in widescreen, right? I'm wondering if that has ever been released on DVD anywhere? I wish they'd re-master it. My version is pretty low quality even though it's an official DVD. I assume that it's never made it to bluray or anything high def, hahaha.

Anyhow, it had been a few years since I'd seen it but some of it still really holds up - Nothing Can Stop the Smooze is still catchy as heck! There's Always Another Rainbow was also super charming still.

A MIB Flutter Pony or MIB Princess Pony. I honestly don't even know where/how I'd display one, but I've wanted one since I joined The Arena (almost 15 years ago, oh my gosh!! haha)

Pristine condition original wings for all of my flutters are up there, too!

Would also love to own all of the G1 Bushwoolies and princess accessories. A minty Princess Serena. I still have my childhood Princess Sparkle with all of her accessories intact.

So that's gotta be the Rainbow of Darkness that Firefly's carrying, right?  The Rainbow of Light is in a cute little locket.  Look how happy that pony is, flying that evil thing to Mount Doom or wherever. :P

Oh my gosh I LOVE these. I tried going to this website and it asked for verification information before I could even look for items, is that normal?

Pony Corral / Re: Pony Dreams?

I've had an occasionally reoccurring dream for 15+ years where I'm on a road trip in the middle of nowhere and stumble across a dusty, closed toy store that hasn't been touched since the 80s, and is no longer owned by anyone.

I can 'take' whatever I want from the store shelves for free, everything is MIB/MOC and as it was in the 80's. So naturally I load up on all of the ponies and She-ra stuff. Every time I wake up, it KILLS me that that one isn't real, haha!

Pony Corral / Re: Restoring G1 Petite Pony Hair Curls?

Sure!  Well I don't have a before picture (it wasn't pretty XD), but here's after:

I realized you might be talking about the little tiny ringlet curls, in which case, I don't know, but the mlp preservation project has an example of a petite like that in the hair section:  http://www.mlppreservationproject.com/hair.html
Just scroll down to the "Re-curling" section.  Its very encouraging...

I was, thank you for the website - this is a fantastic resource! :D

That's my wee petite with the restored ringlet curls :) It was fiddly but I achieved that by using toothpicks.
If it's not a ringlet restore, then I find using the same methods as you would use on a normal sized pony's hair works just fine. Wash, condition; straighten and re-curl if required.

it is a ringlet restore, I should have been more specific! Your results were great!

Off Topic / Re: Babysitters Club Teaser Trailer - Netflix Series
« on: May 09, 2020, 03:13:38 PM »
I think I found a few of the books Babysitters' Club before & read them. Each of them had a different personality, different passions & different issues. One I read was written from the perspective of a diabetic, & it sticks in my mind. If the show is anywhere near as good as the books I'm looking forward too (just hope it comes to Netflix UK)

It's a Netflix exclusive, so I think it will be on UK Netflix as well :) I'm in Canada, so similar to you folks we don't always get everything that American Netflix has, but we always get all of their original series. Different personality types and different backgrounds was always an important aspect of the Babysitters Club, I'm sure they will honour that!

I'm so freaking jazzed for this!

https://twitter.com/netflixfamily/status/1258788874773561345

It was shared via the Netflix Family twitter channel, so I'm sure the target demo will be younger - but given the type of landline phone they're using in these shots, I think the series will also include several nostalgic nods that us OGers will be excited to see!

I saw someone doing curls with straws and bullclips on FB.

I remember your name from eons ago :D

I find that the inside of a ballpoint pen is good for tiny, tight curls. I use those cheap papermate pens. They haven't leaked on me once, thankfully.

Ah, that's a GREAT idea, I just threw out an empty pen refill yesterday that I can rescue. I have a lot of PP on the way, and some of the 'permed' ponies need some TLC for sure!

I have one I got in a lot that was pretty messy and I was able to get her back to how she should be...unfortunately that was years ago and i don't remember exactly what I did.  Most likely I washed and conditioned in lukewarm water, and then...if you kind of pull it while twisting it in the direction it "wants" to go, it will try to form itself back into the correct curl.  Sorry I can't give you better instructions   But it turned out really well!

that's okay, this is still helpful and I appreciate it :) are you willing to share a pic?
