Sun fading Yellowed Piggy Snuzzle
« on: May 10, 2015, 03:12:14 PM »
I sadly purchased a piggy Snuzzle that I was unaware was so yellowed. She looks almost brown.

Would any of you recommend trying to sunfade her or is that the REASON she might be discolored...

Any ideas would be great.

Hey there :)
If it's not too much to ask, are you able to show photos? I have a piggy bluebelle who is slightly yellowed and she is somewhat similar in color to snuzzle, it sounds concerning that she seems to be brown and it might be from the sun itself, like you mentioned.
I'm leaning towards not sunfading her, it might do more harm than good to be honest.
Could always look on the bright side and pretend she's like a real pony color like Macau Jenny? :D
(I'm not much help sorry)

Perhaps mummy her up and try a sun fading hoof and see how it goes?

you could test an area as PKW says, but it may be she's suffering from sunburn...potentially combined with the plastic breaking down (both cause discoloration). I have seen some sunburned ponies, including argies that are definitely "browned" and I haven't seen anything so far that corrects that

I sunfade lots and personally have never seen a pony discolour (although i have seen pics of ones that have) tbh she is so far discolored i doubt if it was sun burn that it would get darker therefore i say put her out for a day on one side and she what happens. I have seen greeks come up great with sunfading (just comparing your piggy to greeks cause they r the only others i know with such squishy plastic

I too had wondered if she was sun damaged or perhaps it's nicotine discolouration?
