Title: How do you style hair for ponies in storage?
Post by: Epona on December 05, 2016, 05:47:06 PM
Most of mine are wild and free.
A few are in twists, a few in braids.
50-60 are in curls. I would like to eventually have all of them in curls.
I really should wrap the ones with chartreuse hair.
What other hair colours tend to stain pony plastic? (I know any colour Can, but which are prone to it)

Sugarberry's shade of red can stain. I had a near mint Sugarberry and one day l looked under her hair and saw pink stains on her from her hair.

Hmmm, who else has sugarberry hair colour?
Mine is a re-hair, does the newer sugarberry colour hair stain?

Is that the colour of BNG pretty visions stripe? I just got one in a lot with a pink stain and was wondering if it was from her hair.

I'm not sure what other ponies have the exact same shade of hair as Sugarberry or if they are re-haired in the matching color if it stains as well. I'm sure someone here knows though. :)

Wrapped around their necks and back legs. The ponies with chartreuse hair are in an extra sandwich bag so they can't stain other ponies. If they stain themselves, then so be it. The colour will match anyway. :P

Mine are in bubble wrap bags. You fold them over to stick to the other side so most of my ponies have been put in feet first with the hair standing up because it's caught in the fold. Keeps it from touching much if not all of the body.

Mane wrapped around the neck, tail tucked between hind legs. I store them each in their own sandwich bag (unsealed), so they don't potentially stain each other. They've been stored like this for almost a decade, and so far it's worked great.

I usually go around the neck and leg/s for straight-haired ponies with normal length hair, others I either carefully place their hair (usually curls) or for long-haired ponies I often wrap the manes around the front leg as well. Some ponies who are due for a bath when they come out are let go 'wild 'n' free' LOL. Staining hair (Sugarberry, Surprise, etc) ponies get their hair wrapped in tissue if I remember to do it... No staining yet (aside from my SS Ribbon who came to me that way) so so far, so good! I'm preggers so I have to properly rearrange my storage so I know who's where before they go into deep storage for a little while, at the moment I have ponies in all sorts of crazy places!!

Around the neck and legs but I do accept that likely I'll be having pony spa days when they come back out again!  Storage and hairstyles don't really mesh...
