Just popping one more quick question in here at the top. I was wondering how much people have been getting the G4 Fashion Style ponies for. I haven't seen any around so I was going to purchase online but don't wanna get completely ripped off.
And while we're at it, how much should regular sized G4 singles be? I though around $5-7 but stores around me have been selling $9-12, is that about right?
I was wondering if anyone else has seen these?
I've only seen Sweetie Belle and Sunny Daze so when I saw a Rainbow Dash on eBay I was amazed (and unfortunately outbid), does anyone know just how many characters are available as a G4 newborn? And also, where can you buy them in Australia?! I have had very little luck finding anything. :huh:

She is cute :D unfortunately, I don't think we have had any released in Oz as yet, but we seem to be very behind in all releases, so don't worry just yet, they may be still to hit the shelves. I want one of the newborn spikes XD he is so cute!

I hear ya! I want to see the FS Luna / Celestia set too, I am very dissapointed that hasn't made its way here yet, and not too sure if it ever will. We do seem to get odd things that the other countries don't though, like the euro 2 packs, and the raritys carriage with star swirl, but miss out on other stuff. So, who knows. Good luck with your search! Hoping they will start showing up on shelves here soon :D

What store, if any, is the best to hunt in? I'm only new to the pony scene and I've been to Target and Big W without much success... although I think I did see a teach Pinkie Pie to walk in one of them, I'd like to have her hmmmm. Would Toys R Us be the best bet? I get the feeling their dreaded pink aisle is most likely pony heaven.
I only wish these stores actually had decent online catalogues, it's always such a bummer to make a trip and return empty handed.

I went to a toys R us (Chadstone, Vic) last week and they did not have one single pony, not one, they had a sign saying they were in "this isle" but it was full of lps and dolls :/
Ive found big w, Kmart and target to be your best bet for ponies, if there is a toy store nearby, I would check it out too as you never know your luck. They all seem to get different stock in, like target will have item A, big w item B, and they won't both stock it, kinda weird but anyhow.

Yeah, the only So Softs here so far are PP, Sweetie Belle and Sunny Daze. I think there may be another release soon though, as we are extremely behind on MLP (only up to Wave 3 singles and playsets, when the rest of the world is up to Wave 6 I think)

We saw her at TRU recently, and initially I liked her, but then I heard her voice and just gagged on the overly sweetness of it. I mean, even my husband initially liked her and put her down after hearing her voice. SPIKE oddly had a REVERSAL of opinion though, I actually didn't like at ALL, I thought he was just ugly as all sin, and then I saw him up close and personal, and heard his voice, and he made my son giggle like mad and I just fell for him. I didn't buy him though, his price point was a tad too high for me especially because he was damaged and th only one :|

Well, I know that they're most likely not going to shop up in Malaysian stores- Hasbro Malaysia already said that they're not bringing in the So Softs. The only way we're gonna see them is if we import them ourselves, if Hasbro Malaysia changes their minds, or if some other company parallel imports them (which Hasbro Malaysia has acknowledged does occur from time to time).

Personally I don't like any of their voices, I take the batteries out because if my dog hears one peep out of them he will go to the ends of the earth to get to them and destroy them :P

Oh, I just had another thought. How much are the So Soft Pinkie Pie Learn to Walk being sold for? I've seen them $40+ and was wondering if this is about what most people are paying.

I actually saw the Rainbow Dash so-soft at Big W today! I'm in Brisbane - if you're after it, I saw it at Garden City (Mt Gravatt). I was on the hunt for new ponies (I keep hoping wave 4 will magically appear lol no) and the RD so-soft was about the only new thing around. Oh, they also had the train! Hadn't seen that before, it was cute!

They had a few so-softs, but I'm not sure if they were all RD or a mix, sorry. If you're after the train set too, they had lots of them, though.

I get G4s at at Wal-Mart, around here the singles sell for about $5, and the Fashion Style ponies sell for about $13. ^^

The Fashion Style Ponies are around $20 in Aus (SA at least) depending where you go (usually $22 at Target, $25 at Toys R Us).
The singles are $9-$12 depending on where you go (Cheaper in Big W and K-mart, more expensive at Target and Toys R Us, TRU tends to be expensive for everything of course).

Styling ponies are $19 at Big W, $9 at Kmart. Other stores are more pricey. Kinda sucky :huh:

MIB Fashion Style Applejack is getting really hard to find. One is going for $75 on ebay right now, and I just ordered 4 from the last online vendor with them in stock for $52 each plus an exorbitant shipping price. If they don't release her again with the same packaging I don't think the price will go down. Based on 10 years of collecting, I'm predicting that the G4 ponies that will turn out to be the most pricey after a few years will be MIB G4 Fashion Style ponies, depending on whether or not there's a re-release of the same ponies.
Otherwise, I've been paying around $20 for Fashion Style ponies online; they're cheaper if you can find them in stores but the pickings are slim where I am. Target seems to just want to get rid of the ones they have left to make space so I picked up an FS Fluttershy for $10 off, and Princess Luna and Celestia for $25 off.

The brushables in my area are 5 to 7 and the FS are 12 to 16.

I agree with cobalte, alot of people probably didn't read your message properly and just assume you are in the US, and quoting that. As you know, there is no such thing as wal mart or $5 ponies in Australia. $9 - $12 per single pony & about $19 up for FS's is about right, I brought a FS RD for $19 can't remember which store tho.
There are quiet a few Aussie members on here though that can probably answer most of your "country specific" questions ;)

Oh don't get me wrong, I've longed for a less shall we say obnoxious RD myself. But there's less obnoxious and then there's diabeetus inducing. Baby RD is Diabeetus inducing, and if you're looking at the toy as being "where the show RD" came from, I don't see RD EVER being that sweet, even as an infant. She was probably an obnoxious tomcolt from birth :P

I looked up the prices in Belgium:
Regular size ponies: 12 dollar
Fashion style ponies: 25 dollar
so I get them about the same price if I buy them here than if I buy them online XD.

Even here it varies a lot though! Kmart has the cheapest prices, but it's because of demographic reasons. Kmarts tend to be located in low-income areas so people shopping at them simply don't have the same amount of expendable income that people in other areas have; Targets are more likely to be located in higher income areas and the suburbs, so they charge more for the same ponies. Of course there's some crossover, but they admit they are catering to different income brackets. The U.S. has a lot of class variation, more so than a lot of other countries because we do not have the same social safety nets that other developed countries have, like universal healthcare. And our minimum wage is nowhere near the minimum wage of countries I've visited in Europe, even adjusting for cost of living expenses.

WOW. Um, maybe that holds true for the rest of the USA, but here in the NOVA are, Kmart is actually one of the WORST places to buy ponies because they just don't stock them o.O At one point, G3 ponies were like, 7 or 8 bucks there. And I'm talking the singles. Nothing crazy special. Kmart here is just as upper income as every other store because everyone here is "upper income" (And I'm NOT trying to sound stuck up or anything, its just that incomes here are insane in comparison to the rest of the country :( ) You can make 80K and struggle to live in a 2 BR apartment. No joke. Also, since Sears and Kmart became one company, they're REALLY trying to "boost their image" to try and look more up-scale. Which is kind of funny, because (at least around here) the Sears which used to LOOK upscale now are looking downscaled o.O; ANYWAY. And oddly G4's are the same here. More expensive than even Target. Target is pretty reasonable. And a nicer place to shop too. ^^; But I digress. I think like everything else in this area, the difference is just...a little weird fluke of weird caused by THIS WEIRD AREA....Anyone who lives around here knows what I mean ._.;

I was on the hunt for new ponies (I keep hoping wave 4 will magically appear lol no) and the RD so-soft was about the only new thing around. Oh, they also had the train! Hadn't seen that before, it was cute!
OMG thank you thank you thank you!!! I just got back from Big W where I snatched up the last So Soft RD! Literally, last so soft even on the shelf, I couldn't help but squealing! I'm so happy, thanks for the tip on where to find her! :D
Also, this was the first my little pony product I've ever bought in store and being 19 (female at least) it was a weird feeling but I couldn't stop smiling! I only started collecting ponies a few months ago and I've already got at least a hundred, I dare not count them (I'm a fan of Lanard fakies tho so there's a lot of them too), it horrifies my family lol!

And in regards to buying ponies, I usually have my little sister with me so it isn't too bad, it also helps that I look young :P

I just meticulously deboxed, removed batteries, then reboxed RD... lol I know crazy, but I don't know if I'll want to display her in or out so I removed her batteries as a precaution as I don't want them eroding or leaking in the future, plus the whole dog murdering anything that makes a sound thing.
Yeah, stick a pony in my arms and I look a bit younger but I still can't pull it off lol. Worse is I actually had my mum with me, I was grinning like a loon and she was acting like she didn't know me... and being the kind daughter that I am I offered to carry her heavy items and thus she was left with the pony, rofl!

Haha, I never care when I buy pony toys, to be honest. Although I'm old enough that people just assume I'm buying for a daughter or something. Once I was buying a bunch of blind bags, and the nice, elderly lady serving me said, "Oh, some lucky girl is going to be happy to get these."
And I smiled and said, "Yep, she definitely will be." And I was. :D

We got wave 1 last year - and they sold out quickly. They turned up in TRU and David Jones, not sure if they were ever sold anywhere else; they were the only places I saw them. No idea when or if we will be getting wave 2.
I've had all my info on which products are available down here just by keeping an eye on the arena since I signed up. People tend to post when they spot something new.

When I was deboxing/reboxing I noticed a tiny smudge on her eye... I didn't notice it before I bought her and she was the only one there so I wasn't just gonna leave without her, my face when I saw the smudge was like SUPER POUT!!! :C

Yep, definitely hate those factory defects. I was going to pick up a FS Pinkie Pie when it was on sale at Target a few days ago but I saw she had a smudge on her eye so I passed.
I wish I could be like those people who love and actively collect factory error ponies but I just can't do it. :yikes:

That and shops only stocked Wave 1 a grand total of... one time. I missed out that time :cry: I don't want to pay exorbitant eBay prices either :(

Well, the So Soft Rainbow Dash arrived in the mail today.
I honestly didn't find her too bad. Her phrases were cute even though they were out of character :P
Also had me wondering if Hasbro is trying to get rid of old stocks of material- the clothes RD was wearing had her G3.5 Cutie Mark on it.
VA-wise, same voice actress as So Soft Sweetie Belle, which also had her G3.5 cutie mark on her clothes. They even share a couple of identical phrases.
Hmmm... Excuse for the diabeetus-inducing: The box lies and what you're getting is actually a G3.5 so soft? <g>

I was at Strathpine shops and also Chermside yesterday, and just confirming that they are definitely there.
