Can anyone ID this Lee Middleton baby doll?
« on: June 01, 2013, 06:05:05 PM »
My grandma collects baby dolls, so I picked her up a Lee Middleton baby I found today at a yard sale. Upon closer inspection, this doll seems to be a limited edition; she's marked 149/250, and she has a signature from the artist on her belly.

Does anyone know anything about Lee Middleton dolls and might be able to help me ID her? Here's a few pictures of her:

She is about 21 inches tall/long

She's got a couple bottom teeth, so she's not quite a "baby" baby; I'd estimate she's meant to depict a one-year-old or somewhere in that range?

Brown eyes

Blonde hair (wigged, not rooted), put up in little pigtails that stick up. I'm 90% sure the pigtails are the original hairstyle

Designed by Reva (stamped on her neck)

Limited edition of only 250 dolls (marked on her neck)

Signed/autographed on her cloth belly "Love and Prayers! Reva 2003"

The woman I bought her from said she originally paid over $300 for her, if that's at all helpful.

Well Love and Prayers was a doll made after Lee Middletons business went to the family.  Its a later doll so I am not sure you would get more than 100.00 for it. People hope they can get like 140.00 for these but it doesn, t happen often.  Look up Love and prayers online and see if its the same doll.  She did not come with pigtails that I am aware of.  If she is the true Love and Prayers doll, she was a club doll I think in 1990, s...late 90, s.  I see her up for sale from time to time.  The date is throwing me and making me wonder if she was a re.issue or if Reva signed her later.  She has a facebook page.  Perhaps contacting her with a photo is best.

Pics added!

Tula: I just looked up Love and Prayers, and judging by the pictures of her, she's not the one we have. Ours has a different face, and her hair's more sandy blonde compared to Prayers's reddish color.
