I've only got three, but they're nendoroid petites. They're so much cheaper than the normal sized ones, though! And they're so adorable, and...they kind of look like candy :'D

congrats on your first, nendos are a lovely thing to collect I now hhave... 5 or 6 and one on his way ...4 different Mikus (though two are, unfortunately, bootlegs.)
(most live at my parents', but one is living at David's. it's kind of a collection we have together, anyway)

Miss-tuneful: thankyou!  I just kept seein them all over the con and I finally bought one!  The seller told me to look out for bootlegs, but if people collect them and it makes them happy then more power to them! ^_^. Either way they're all so cuuute!  I think I'm going to preorder Sakura Shinguji from Sakura Wars next. 

I also found my Nendoroid grail: Sakura Hatsune Miku!!!!! O_O I don't know how much I'd pay if I found her non-bootleg for sale, but it would probably be alooooot, lol.

Are they very expensive? I loved those anime-type figures when I was into anime but I don't know if they were a specific brand, I think they were just series figurines.

How much do Nendroids run at conventions?  I keep eyeing them up on the goodsmile site but I can't afford the shipping- $25 for something that's only 5" tall??  Auuuugh T_T

They are actually rather pricey, they usually run about $40+ (before shipping if you're getting them directly from a Japanese shop).. and to be quite honest with how expensive they are getting you're better off buying figma (same company/companies distributes/makes them), at least then they are fully posable for about the same price >_>;

It all depends on what the vendors that have them sell them for. To be honest they are usually horribly overpriced at cons and you run a MASSIVE risk of getting a bootleg. Good Smile Company products are notorious for getting bootlegged (they do tons of blog posts about it), and you are best off order from Japan from a site like AmiAmi or Hobby Link Japan, even if the shipping is murder. Least you know it's real, as trying to get a 'deal' from eBay will usually land you with a bootleg as well!

Holy crap wow haha okay, my figures are totally not this type then haha. Japan makes really good quality figures however. You can get awesome ones from vending machines & random grab bag lines for different anime series. I got a whole series of Higurashi no Naku Koro ni figures that are great for "random figure" price.  Are these just somehow even better quality?? I think there is even a game series of these figures...

I am loving these Nendoroids, especially Millhiore F. Biscotti and her awesome Chocobo-esque bird. I may have to start attaining these at some point when I find some work around here. 'Cause seriously, I love anime and I love cute.

Is there a database somewhere, I wonder? I'd like to see what's all out there!

That's a bummer :< I'm kind of dying for Saber and I just got paid, but I can just barely afford to drop $50 on something that small... hell if I can add $25 to that and be able to justify it.  I'm better off saving up and buying a new BJD at that point xD

The non -bootleg Sakura miku only exists as a petite charm, actually. GSC have had plans to release a Sakura miku now, there were pics of her this spring so I hope she'll be released next. She's my no1 grail, and I want her full-size. I might get the bootleg tho, as I love the cherries in her hair and stuff.

I try not to collect bootlegs tho, they are generally MUCH lesser quality. I hope to upgrade my bootleg girls (both bought unknowingly ) to the real deal some day.
But I dislike the nendoroid petite size, so I want that version full-size... And sadly, then bootleg is the only way to go.
