I would also try something like rubbing alcohol for that. Have you tried peeling it off her back? Some clear glue will peel off plastic easily. I would be carful peeling it from the hair, as it might damage it. Good luck with it :)

The back glue was really easy to peel off! Some on her head too!

Here is the progress:
I turned on the hottest water in my bathroom sink and have the pony head attached to a toothbrush end and secured the bristles with a cup to hold it in place. The pony head is soaking, hair only mainly, and I plan to leave it there for most of the day with checking on the hair periodically.

Another Update!
I found the acetone my mom has and added some on the shopping list for her. I am trying to separate RD's mane down the middle of it and sectioning the colors out. I have been using a cotton pad and taking a little bit of her mane and soaking the acetone on a cotton pad to her mane a little bit as of two days ago. I plan to work on her later today.

Depending on what type of glue it is it will soften it, which might allow you to peel it up easier and possibly cut it with scissors to remove larger chunks and make the bits actually on the hair more manageable. Just be careful not to burn yourself.

I think it is clear glue, not hot glue. Do you think clear glue will soften with hot heat from a hair dryer?

Quick Update:
I tried doing an acetone and toothbrush in a Pyrex measuring cup. It didn't do much, but I saw little chunks of glue coming out of her mane.
Artemesia's Garden:
I would have said try hot water first, I think that what your doing is exactly what I'd have done too. I'm sorry I can't think of anything else. Afterwards I'd also wash the plastic treated with acetone with hand soap and some warm waters, then maybe add a drop of mineral oil or baby oil to help re-condition the plastic.

Thank you! I might try that! :)

I am updating again!:
I gave up on the acetone and just decided to snip it all off. She has a buzz cut mane and I am trying to pull out all of the little excess hair in her mane plugs. I know it will take more than one day, and plan to be done by next week.
