I have to admit Alphabittle is growing on me, I just wish they hadn't reused a G3 name for him! It keeps throwing me off since the two are so different to each other

"Alphabittle Blossomforth" not only reuses TWO G3 names, but also is just nonsensical word salad. What's an "Alphabittle"? Where does "Blossomforth" come from? His CM is a teapot... if they needed to reuse a G3 name, I would suggest Snowdrop Swirl... at least "snowdrops" are associated with white like his hair, and G3 Snowdrop even has a teacup CM. They are linked. Why go for the alphabet soup pony and not one, but TWO different flower ponies (since Blossomforth was reused in G4 as well)?

G5 has an issue with names in general. "Argyle" is a cute name. "Starshine" is a cute name. What kind of name is "Argyle Starshine" (Sunny's dad)? "Starshine" makes sense, but where does "Argyle" fit into his design at all?

THIS- it makes me shake my head and wonder what they were thinking. new alphabittle is nearly monochromatic, while G3's was colorful & theme appropriate. i associate my Alphabittle with alphabet soup thank you very much

Iirc originally Alphabittle's role was significantly different, so I assume maybe the names were tied to that? Either way, I totally agree with Ragamuffin on G5's naming schemes. I really don't like that they use actual names for ponies like Izzy and Phyllis. It clashes with the more cutesy names like Sunny Starscout and Sugar Moonlight, and it's honestly just not as much fun.

G5 names in general are kind of a mess, yeah. A lot of them are way too long.

G5 definitely has a naming issue though. The names are generally quite awful for ponies.
