My Dad has been a football fan since he was a kid, though these days he always pretends like he 'doesn't care that much'. But he really does. As proven today when he invaded my room to watch the highlights and review of a game involving his team.

Seeing him happy about their result made me happy too. My team won yesterday, it's nice for him to have a good football day too.

It may seem odd but Boxing Day and the Christmas period in the UK is very full of football/soccer fixtures.

The thing that made me smile today was impromptu pony luck! I found a beautiful notebook and matching pencil case in Home Bargains; they're both blush pink and gold, with Fizzy on the notebook and an array of ponies on the pencil case. I'm coming towards the end of my current notebook after a load of ideas came up out of nowhere, so it's turned out to be pretty good timing!

I've had an awful day or two (anxiety related to a work thing) but the wonderful holiday custom swap box I received from Minty_Magic totally made my day

And snow! Even though it's already melting. The snowfall of the morning quickly turned into rain. It's still better than no snow at all and it made me smile when I woke up.

I bought myself a nice bathroom scale since I've decided to change what I eat and my eating habits to lose weight and feel better. I set it up and if it's accurate, I've lost 16lbs since November! That was the last time I was weighed at my doctor's office. I'm hoping it's correct.

It's probably the most beautiful morning of the winter. All the trees look like they are flocked, because they are snow-covered. It was a day like this that we looked at our current house for the first time, and we fell in love with the property. (The house itself has turned out to be not exactly our dream home, but...) Too bad we haven't put it on the market yet; maybe some other sucker would have looked at the house today and bought it because all its flaws are covered up, haha. Anyway, it is one of those days I can't help but look out the window and be grateful for the beauty in the world.

Today I got some gorgeous nail polish in the mail and I can't wait to try it on!

Home-schooling starts tomorrow for me as we await the online lessons to begin tomorrow, so I got a "day off" from playing teacher!

Browsed fleabay this morning and struck gold - found a guitar amp local to me for a bargain price, £30 (usually £130) so contacted the seller, paid them online and picked up the amp (socially distanced etc) en route to the supermarket!

Sprayed over with steriliser, plugged in and sounds very good!

The thing that made me smile today was seeing a heron from my bedroom window! I thought it was a herring gull at first, as there have been some massive ones around here recently but then it turned around to land in a garden and revealed its majestic posture. Collared doves have started visiting again as well, so it's been a good day for birds!
