Yeah, it's my box that's still in transit. It was returned to sender after I sent it the first time last month, and now it's being held up again. Seems like the shipping company is trying to charge Okami for duties and taxes (an absurd amount, too!) even though I prepaid them at my post office. I've been calling both places over and over again. The post office has been trying to contact the shipping company to get them to change the duties status of the package but I guess the shipping company hasn't been getting back to them? And each time I call the shipping company they just tell me to talk to my post office, it's REALLY frustrating!  I've been calling in the mornings and both places promise they'll get back to me by the end of the day but they haven't been and it's just.. just... uuuuggggghhhhhhhh. I am never shipping through that post office or with that shipping company again!

Okami and Saja are just both champs for putting up with this. Poor Saja, I know the last swap you hosted had one pony you were waiting on for a long time too! I just hope that the post office is finally able to get through to the shipping company. If they haven't by tomorrow I am going to write SUCH an angry review for them both!

Yes, when the package arrived at customs, they saw that their value was 50 USD (if the value of the package is more than 50 USD, GBP or any other currency, customs holds it) therefore applied 21% IVA and delivery costs, a total of € 45.20. Finally all settled but my package was kidnapped.

Oh my, that's ridiculous! Im so glad we don't have to pay to get our parcels here in Australia like that.

Yeah, the post office I was using apparently is just really bad about checking a little box on the shipping slip that says that duties and taxes have already been paid. So when it got to Spain they thought someone still had to pay and Okami was the closest target. I contacted the post office and the post office contacted DHL though and got it all sorted out!

I still don't understand at all the total they tried to make you pay. If the value was declared as 50 USD a 21% tax is still only € 7.86. I tried to get DHL America to explain it to me over and over again, and they just kept saying "the VAT is always 21%", and then I would explain that they were trying to charge over 100%, and then they'd tell me that the VAT is always 21%, and it would go on like that.

Anyway. I'm glad things were finally sorted out
