Oh no, I didnt take it as criticising!  No worries. My last message just probably sounded like that, wrote it on my phone and I didnt know how to use any smileys or anything. Didnt mean to!  :)

Many people just think acne creams are always bad, even if your pony is almost beyond saving. I just believe it is a really good way to save ponies when nothing else helps. And its really good for people to know the bad things too, just to avoid any disasters.

Lol - you can usually tell when I am posting on my tablet or phone. A lack of smilies and really really bad spelling!

I just noticed these gross pimples on Starshine! D:

I don't know if I just overlooked them before but they looked really obvious to me today so I don't know how I would have missed them, they were grey coloured and stood out more than you can see in the picture. Is it possible that something I've done has brought them out? I pricked them both with a pin but nothing seemed to drain out, the colour does look a bit lighter now but you can still see the bumps and the plastic is all soft where they are/were. :(

Am I right in thinking this is a kind of mould, or something similar? I've disinfected them, will that be enough to kill it?

Thanks for the advice Eldarwen and Hathorcat, I think I'll try sunfading first and then go from there. :)

I have no idea tinrobo to be honest. It could be just an imperfection in the plastic. I have come across what looks like little dimples in pony plastic in the past and I have always assumed its either a little bit of a break down or just a general plastic integrity issue.

Could be a surface bubble in the original casting, that does tend to happen, albeit rarely.

My Sunlight has a "gross pimple" just like that. It reminds me of a little bubble. I wonder if it's common on Rainbow Ponies?

It's the first time I've seen that on a pony, is your one a different colour to the pony Vulpy? Mine were both grey and now they seem to have gone back to the normal colour, near enough.

I've bleached them just to be on the safe side but it's good to know it's probably just a flaw in the plastic :) thanks everyone!

Wow, those ponies had some FUN in the last 30 years it appears!

So cool that you're trying to bring them back! As for the pimples, I think I've seen those too and assumed they were bubbles in the plastic as others mentioned... can't remember it they were discolored or not though...

Best of luck in your continued cleaning!

Looks like bubbles in the plastic.  Oh the stories they would tell, if they could talk. Looks like they have been buried. The anthropologist in me (one of my majors) would be itching to handle them. Puzzle out where they've been.

Good luck restoring them.

Thought you guys might like an update on how my girls are getting on! I've been sunning them since the last time I posted and I'm really surprised with how much progress they've made (especially Moonstone, when I first saw her I thought she was a bit of a lost cause!).

This side has had the most sun:

 Moonstone looks amazing!!! I kept clicking back and forth between the first and last pages just to see how much she has changed! Congratulations on your hard work :) It's so great that you have taken the time to try and restore these poor dears!

I think I'm kind of weird in saying this but...Starshine looks so elegant without hair

Thank you! I'd forgotten how bad she was until I went back and found the first photo I took of them! It's not bad considering how little sun we get in England! ;P

LOL I quite like bald ponies too! We can be weird together ;)

They look amazing!! I can't wait to see how they will look after more sunfading and a re-hair! If you are going to rehair them :D
