Pony Corral / Re: Are these G3s babies or not?
« on: November 13, 2022, 03:21:20 PM »
They are their own unique class of "little sister."
G1 had a ton of subcategories under the umbrella of "baby pony." From just baby to newborn to teeny tiny newborn.

To me "baby ponies" aren't literal infants, they're more like young kids.  So yeah, I would count those two as baby ponies.

Exactly how I feel

I sort of consider them the first tooth era of baby. Able to babysit new born twins but young enough not to be an adult, like the G1 cartoon depicted.
Also this ^

I wish they had made more. I loved that adolescent in between size. G3 was a wonderful generation for color variations but they never went far enough with the body variants like G1.

As a Ghoulia fan who owns almost every release I am disappointed. She looks bland. I know common criticism of G1 was she looked harsh and mean. I thought it gave her character. This new Gen has her looking like a generic backgrounder. Ugh that skirt bleh
I didn’t really care about the main girls previously, besides Ghoulia I had 1 Clawdeen and 1 Cleo. I was into the more monstery dolls with scales and bones and multiple limbs. So I find it strange how into this Draculaura I am. Changing her height and shape made her really cute to me. I like her style.
Despite my Ghoulia disappointment I think this new Gen is overall pretty cute and fits in with current doll aesthetics. Like the thicker bodies, always thought the original were just a tad too spindle-y. Love the chest joint. Not sure I will get into the media as that never was a thing for me previously.
Looking forward to seeing what else they do.

DoDollsDream Teacup Marionette Aurie. My third BJD and first fully humanoid. Her sculptor is in Poland and I managed to get a Polish artist for her faceup. She is gorgeous and amazing and the tracking number hasn't updated in two weeks and I am soooooo impatient for her to arrive

I'd have a hard time deboxing her for that note alone

I mean, I would keep the note no matter what but it's like a framed story  :)

Definitely a thing! I had 3 Sunspots at one time and they were all different. Here is my thread talking about them. I used to use photobucket before they got stupid so I don’t know how good the pictures are anymore..

Waiting for my first BJD a Dreamvalley giraffe Calle. This is my first foray into the BJD world and it’s a real lesson in patience.
When I first saw her she was listed as in stock. But when I finally went to purchase her Dreamvalley was doing an event and she now listed as preorder. On Denverdolls FAQ they stated they don’t take full payment on preorders until it ships. But when I made my order the full amount was taken. So now I’m confused. And then another company stated there were issues with shipping from Dreamvalley but Denverdoll hasn’t issued any sort of update.
*sigh* I don’t know if I can handle this hobby. I’m too used to near instant gratification of playline dolls

Pony Corral / Price check: My Pretty Ponies & Soft Sleepy Newborn
« on: January 29, 2021, 12:16:32 PM »
Hi guys, I'm trying to raise money for a big purchase and so want to sell some items. I need a little help with pricing as my go to of ebay sold listings is not being helpful. I've taken just some quick pictures for now.

Brown My Pretty Pony is in very nice shape with her lever working. She has a paint scratch on one leg. Please forgive the state of her tail, I'm working on untangling and smoothing it out. Her hair is super dry. Not pictured is her original box and manual. The box is very worn around the edges.

Peachy Pretty Pony is in a condition only her mother could love. She is extremely discolored though she is much more even on both sides then when I first received her. I don't know if my picture quite shows it. Her eyes are weirdly crusty though one is worse than the other. She has paint scratches and her leaver is broken and rattling inside her. Upside is her hair is nice haha

Sweet Dreams is a bit dirty from sitting on a shelf at parent's house for a couple years and not being dusted ^^; Obviously I'll need to giver her a bath. One symbol has a scratch and her neck seam is kinda gapey? Her panties have a stain on one side and the elastic is completely worn out. Her hair is nice but it's been braided for awhile. Her tail is braided and looped so that's why you see that tuft of hair sticking up. Her eyes open and close no problem.

It certainly re-confirmed the hellish-ness of retail work...

But on a positive note, I can sew! I've been a pretty avid crocheter and have dabbled in many different crafts including a bit of hand sewing. But when mask wearing started becoming a thing I decided I wanted to make my own and borrowed my mother's sewing machine. I'm at the point that people are very impressed with the quality of my masks and I finished this vintage style dress in a gorgeous Halloween fabric for my sister. My parents gifted me a sewing machine for Christmas too!

So thanks 2020, you were terrible in so many ways but you gave me a sewing machine and the skills to use it.

Did anyone manage to get more than one galaran ponyta? I didn’t know it was a limited 2 day thing until after it was over. I only got one :( I hoard ponytas..
I did, but only two. I think that they can hatch out of 7 km eggs now, though!

Omg I just hatched one! Fantastic!

Turns out my house is a shiny hotspot. Last two community days I e managed to catch 5 shinies while being at home. I like what they’ve dine with remote raids. Now if we can just trade with our friends in other countries.

Pony Corral / Re: Pony Mistakes

I accidentally scrubbed too hard and took off some of the pearlescence on a pearly baby. It's not very noticeable but she WAS perfect before that.

First time I tried to take off the head of a pony with tail rust the head was glued on super securely and I thought I could loosen it with an exacto knife. I was too inexperienced and cut the neck plug clean off.

I ruined some pony wear by soaking it in an oxyclean bath. It took off the shiny-ness of the trim. The white part of the rest of the dress is beautifully clean  ^^;

I need to be better at thinking things through...

Just wanted to stop by and say thank you to whom ever is in Pennsylvania because I hatched a shiny Cleffa from and egg from you!
I know it’s random and the friends don’t actually influence egg results but I thought I’d share :D

I completely and utterly missed the slakoth event. Was sad I missed the opportunity for a pink sloth. It's not a common pokemon around here.

Continuing the subject of shinies I got super lucky with the research tasks reward and got a shiny Latias!
