Dying the ends of pony hair? Horrible idea?

Has anyone tried to dye pony hair?  If so, how did it go, and what method did you use?

Well I've repinked pony hair before with RIT dye. You heat up the dye then dunk the pony's hair in and then rinse it in cold water, then repeat as many times as necessary to get the color you want.

I got Rit Dye from my local craft store. I boiled some water, put in the dye, and stirred it. To dye the hair I dip the pony's hair in the pot and then took her out and rinsed the hair in a bowl of cold water. The hot from cold water locks in the color. o.o..  well lol apperntly when i did it i didit wrong.   i had to repink a ponys hair cuase the mane  was white but the tail was still pink lol

so i bought pink rit from wallmart  and put it in  warm water then   just dipped  her hair in it so it got pink. then i made sure hter was no white  then i rinsed it with cold water and let it dry.

I thnk some customizers have done this method on ponies
It would be like berrytown pony from UK or some of the UK babies

Pony hair is frequently dyed. The water needs to be boiling for the color to take well and then rinse it in cold water as mentioned. My persona requires the tips of her hair be dyed. It really is rather easy.

I have done a few- can only find this one:
Used Rit dye on normal Nylon hair- I tried to use Rit Dye on glow in the dark hair last weekend and it didn't take- the black Rit dye on white glow in the dark turned a burnt yellow so would only recomend drying nylon hair- also after dyeing the hair turns a little crispy so a wash with condition might be a good idea too

I love dying pony hair, and it's pretty simple. Here are a few I've done with just one color of dye.

Blue rit dye over purple hair
