I keep one next to the computer myself (and swap it sometimes so more ponies gets to come out) to cheer me up! :D

Pony Corral / Re: Procedure for getting new ponies
« on: January 24, 2015, 07:08:07 PM »
I do not (so far atleast) buy MOC/MIB so never thaught about that.
And I am not afraid of bacterias (if I would know there is something plague-ish going on in the area I bought it, I would reconsider! ;) ) lots of people travel so bacterias tend to spread all over the world anyway.

(FYI, I do not clean stuff bought from the store before using either, unless it´s food-related.)

I am rather picky with my ponies so I prefer buying from collectors and get a good description of the pony. Then I usually only fix the hair if I want it in a different hairstyle or put it on the shelf right away. They are not always clean when arriving from collectors either, and if they are dirty I remove the stains of course. But if I can, I do not clean the mane and tail.

If I buy lots of unclean ponies at bargain prices, I start with just washing them enough to see if they would be suitable for my own collection. From there, I decide how much effort I would want to put into the cleaning and hairstyling.

She was one of my childhood ponies. It´s getting old to say one of my favourites, because I loved most of them very much in their own way, she was not the very prettiest but I still love her!
My original childhood pony had haircuts so I upgraded. Got her barette, ribbon and will get her brush. :)

And yeah, I guess it´s the pose and the smell I like the most.

Good luck finding it! :)
I am also trying to complete my UK kitchen, but did not find any extras, sorry!

Pony Corral / Re: Where do you keep your ponies?

It´s not supposed to be a permanent solution, but for now the ponies are in my bedroom in 1-2 cheap nylon-closets with wheels from IKEA. They cost me like 25$ each, one was intended for clothes, but eventually I will need it better for the MLPs! *lol*
One of the best things about them besides being cheap is that you can easily spin them around if I don´t want them displayed. Like if I would have people over for a party and would not want them to start playing with my rare ponies! ;)
A big minus is that the nylon is too flexible, so I need to place cut out cardboard pieces for them on the shelves so they can stand up. If you do add the extra floor on the shelves, I think they work great!
Cheap enough to get several of and get plenty of display room. Easy to handle because of the light weight and wheels (compared to book shelves). Will still require some free space of course!

One of the sections in my MLP display closet, UK schoolhouse plus the designated teacher!  :P

There are five shelves in each closet. Think I could make room for around 40 baby ponies per shelf if they are really stuffed together!

My long term plan is to get a few sideboards (or one really big sideboard) as display cabinets. I like the idea of being able to choose when I display them or not, and keeping them from dust. And having enough space to be able to highlight a few favourite sets, even if I´m not aiming to get a HUGE collection. Sideboards seems very easy to integrate in a normal living room/study room/bedroom/hallway interior without it looking messy or taking up too much space.
But it will cost a lot more and I´d like to get it right from the start, something stylish with enough space, in good quality. Maybe even lighting inside! ;)

Yeah there is so much going on now with the Charity event so I almost forget some of the dailies aswell! :P

Got the avatar now, so now the pressure to do the adopt a pet-donations is gone!
But if there is a book as daily reward I will probably do it anyway or buy the book, whichever is cheaper.

Thank you guys!  ^.^

I made everything on the ponies removable. That way I can just take them off and it won´t take up too much space when storing until next year. :)

Ok it´s not really customizing, and it´s not very artsy, but crafty? :)

I like to have projects going on without any pressure, just do it for fun. Partly to compensate for having a lot of pressure in other areas in life. So this was the Christmas project - to make my own holiday decoration with MLPs! :)

Just finished the last adjustments. Sorry about the bad pics, my camera decided not to work so I used my (cheap) phone.

I put candy in the sack, so I get to open it after Christmas and get goodies! :D

Pony Corral / Re: Pony clothes. Is it possible?

Of course it´s possible, and it´s only as complicated as you make it - adjusted to your sewing-/construction skills and the budget and amount of effort you want to put into it.

I have started slowly just with a few costumes that are not supposed to look proffessional, but rather give a nice overall display-look (they don´t have to be as functional and detailed as real clothes, that is).
And there´s no space in my appartment for the sewing machine but hand-sewing is still  quickly done on such small things.
Beware though - it´s the details and small parts that can be tricky and time-consuming.
I spent atleast 1-2 hours total on constructing a tiny santa-hat that would look good on a pony. Because of the teeny-tiny details, the trickyness to make that small stuff can probably often consume more time than constructing larger areas.
But it´s a lot of fun! :) Much like any other form of construction where you design/make something from scratch.

Pony Brag Arena / Re: MASSIVE G1 Goodwill haul!
« on: December 23, 2014, 05:23:42 PM »
Turns out it wasn´t too hard to find MLP at goodwill stores here. It´s just that they wanted about 8-10$ for G1s that was in rather poor condition and definitely not rare enough to be worth more than a few $.
I even felt a bit angry about the overprices, like if they were trying to "trick" people they are rare and worth as much as new toys, even with big discolourations, cut hair etc. Or that they would be really cool kids toys (wouldn´t you rather give them new toys than 20-30 year old already wrecked ones that are still dirty and all?).

Then I felt like a bad person that should have bought them at overprices because it´s goodwill = like donating money.  :P
And the final stage was the conclusion that no, I am already donating some without getting bad stuff in return. But yeah, I don´t have to buy them either just because they are there. Like any sales lot on ebay for that matter.

Glad to see I picked the "bottom pony" as my favourite! ;) She should be easier to get then!

I think Sugar Apple is pretty but I actually sold her because I did not find her interesting enough.

They are items requested for yesterdays "adopt a pet"-event at the Charity event.
You will get an avatar for completing 8 of the daily quests.

Don´t tell me you missed the Charity event?!? :o

I finally got the Music Box, midnight NST is in the morning for me, so I woke up early to check if it was cheaper, saw that it was still unbuyable, so I gave up and sold a couple of the items I already had (neo was lagging horribly so everything took long to do) THEN I saw that a guild friend had sent me the music box!! And it was just a couple of minutes left with neo still lagging.
So I bought back the two items I sold, and hurried to hand them in, think I managed to do it with just seconds to midnight. Phew!
Would have felt like such a waste of the awesome gift if it had not come to use in time.
