Downy Chicken Pony

So I entered the same contest that BlackCurtains entered (and won!  congrats again!) and this was my entry.  She was a bit more simplistic than I had planned only because I ended up super busy with commissions and real life and I really didn't expect anything...but I ended up winning a prize "for having the most puppy dog eyed bird in existence" which makes me almost fall over laughing every time I think of it!  Personally, I think it's the eyelashes.

She was made from a humungous Sweet Steps pony head, a styrofoam ball, real feathers and tons of Smooth On Free Form air and Aves Fixit epoxy clay.  By the time I finished hot gluing all those feathers on one by one I had feather fuzz EVERYWHERE!

Thank you so much everyone!  I swear, I've never giggled so much while making a pony! 

BC, I've been working for years on trying to get that stupid plate off with an exacto knife with no luck.  I'd work at it for a while, then get fed up with it, say a few bad words and stick it back in the bait bag.  I just got a cordless Dremel this summer and found some plastic cutting wheels and I had that baby off in less than a minute!  Nice clean cut too, though the plastic shavings flew everywhere and I was still finding them in my hair hours later!
